    1. Yasiin is the illest! My daughter and I adore his music and he is an exceptional actor. I would love to treat her to a Gal’s Night Out in Los Angeles to witness one of our favorite entertainers perform his last hurrah.

    2. I would like tickets to the LA show. I want the tickets because I am a fan of Mos… I mean Yasiin Bey. If these are his last shows I absolutely want to experience seeing the show.

    3. I’ve been a Yasiin bey fan since black star man. I love the consciousness he puts into his music. I don’t even care to win. Just wanted to drop some love for the man. Sacramento is right around the way. Good luck everyone. And thanks DX for doin shit like this. I appreciate ya.

    4. Mos Def was one of the first rappers I truly fell in love with. In 1999 Black Star was all I listened to. I have followed his carreer and his politics / public philosophy closely ever since. I am also fighting for World Passports to become an acceptable document. Imagine if we ever got that Manny Fresh Album??? But yes, I live in Los Angeles and I would really love to see him live again before he retires from live shows.

    5. I’d like to go to the LA show. The reason why I should get these tickets is because I’ve been a hip hop fan for the majority of my lifetime. I grew up on Tribe, Busta, and the New York scene of Hip Hop. Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides was the soundtrack of my time moving out of my Mom’s when I was eighteen. It reminds me to this day of my ambition to seek independence and prosperity. I listened to The Ecstatic religiously after my friend had told me how great it was. I love his message to the world and his recent displays of activism to branch out of the entertainment industry to educate the masses. The New Danger was also an all time favorite of mine, he combined so many genres of music into a seamless masterpiece. To this day, I listen to Mos Def’s catalog and cherish it as much as when I first heard him. It takes me back to different periods of my life and reminds me that Hip Hop will always have a voice of soul to the world.

    6. Sacramento show. I feel i should go because Mighty Mos Def is my hiphip savior! I remember watching Def poetry every saturday night with my brother and drinking e&j! Haha i remember hearing blackstar for the first time and thinking “how is this dude so aggressive and conscious at the sam damn time??”
I love mos. One of my top 5 emcees. The new danger expanded my taste and black on both sides changed my p preference back in 7th grade when all i was was westcoast rap.
Plus, been a fan since lyricist lounge show and never seen him live. Mos changed my life for the better. Helped me create my own podcast and website simply by putting me on his lyrics. Introducing me to artist like black thought and talib. Man, pick any of us. We all deserve to go!? #HipHopAintDead
Ps. He aint yasiin bey till he drops an album under that name!! Hahahaha which is soon.

    7. I should be one of the souls observing Yassin Bey/ Mos Def/Black Donte/ Boogie Man preform because I am the culture. I don’t listen to Hip Hop I don’t follow Hip Hop I am Hip Hop. I’ve never left a comment online. I just checked this site out as I do everyday just after listening to Yasiin’s True Magic album. I believe it came out 10 years ago this year so I played his album just to give respect and appreciation. Before Mos Def came out I didn’t have a MC I could relate to. From Black on Both sides to The Ecstatic, from interviews to the movies, from Brooklyn to South Africa Mos Def and his contribution to the culture and the Universe is a blessing. I’ve never seen him preform and I would like to contribute to the frequency that day either way I will continue to carry on tradition.

    8. I should win because I’ve never been to a concert and to go to one of Mos’s last ones to start off would be great

    9. Because I am a longtime fan and supporter, I am in Chicago and I never win anything and I need a reason to take a road trip to the west coast, so what do you say? Pick me? Yeah, you know you want ChiTown to represent in Los Angeles <3

    10. I’ve been dying to take a trip to either Los Angeles or Sacramento for a long time now. There couldnt possibly be a better reason than seeing Yasiin live

    11. I should win for loyalty to Mos Def/Yasiin Bey, his music has been the soundtrack to my life since i heard “Respiration” in 12th grade and i’ve been in love with Hip Hop ever since, from going through his discography (The Ecstatic is my all time favorite album, and many epic features [Hurricane by the Roots…I AM TIME!]. Yasiin Bey is the illest MC of all time, hands down! Sexual Chocolate!!!

    12. Mos def has been one of my favorite MCs ever, I had a chance to see Talib and was planning on seeing mos def with my brother. We both live in Sacramento and it would be great to see Mos live.

    13. I want Sacramento tickets because I live in Sacramento. Lol. Mos Def is an artist on my concert bucket list and I’m dying to see him. I loved his tracks in the last few years with Ski Beatz and I feel like The Ecstatic is one of the most underrated albums. The reason I should win a ticket is because I had tickets to see him in the form of Black Star at Northern Nights Music Festival, but sadly he did not show. I assume it was due to restrictions based on his worldwide VISA. Anyways, hope I win a ticket to Sacramento because I’m probably the only DX follower who lives in this area. Thanks.

    14. I have never been to a real hip-hop concert in my life! I am a old head when it comes to hip-hop, the mighty most def & talib blew the game out the frame! With definition and my all time favorite remix redefinition. I am a bay area Westcoast music loyalists and man when black star dropped my whole perspective switch and it opened my eyes to dope ass lyricism with ungodly wordplay. Yesin dropped “my umi says” for the jordan commercial, which showed the immense creativity and versatility that set that guy apart from everyone! This cat is on a level that only andre3000 is able to touch. Look I’m 41 and seeing the mighty most would be this year’s bright spot for me and my family, We have suffered two major loses in losing my pops in April due to complication with C.O.P.D. and my sister Lois to stomach cancer in August of this year. We really need a pick me up in the worst way imaginable, Besides my eldest daughters twenty first birthday is December 16th and she has my soul and shares my love of hip-hop her, our most favorite cut is brown sugar! Lol it would be so nice to take her out to this concert and have a very rare moment father daughter moment with her. We live in Rancho Cordova thirty minutes outside of Sacramento, so this contest opportunity is amazing! To be honest I’m just glad that the brother made it back to the states unscathed and is back touring because the hip-hop genre is in dyer need of his talent. I wanna see a emcee, emcee yafeelme?

    15. In simple terms, the Farwell Tour will be history. As a Hiphop historian, we know the crucial impact Yasiin Bey has had on Hiphop, Hiphop culture, and Rap music. Before Yasiin’s music career becomes lost in our historical archive of rap music. I would like, and appreciate, the opportunity to witness Yasiin take it back to his roots of Mcin’…..a final moment in Hiphop history. Not to mention, something to tell the kids about. Thanks. Oh yes, I would like to attend the LA show. Hope to hear from you.

    16. I want the L.A. tickets because I live out there and I love Mos Def music. I seen him once at the Common and friends concert at the rose bowl a few years ago. It was trippy because me and my friends listened to Black On Both Sides on the way to the concert. I remember it like it was yesterday trying to roll my firet joint in the parking lot as “Know That” played in the background. I was 18 at the time. We had no idea that Mos Def and Talib Kweli would actually perform that night because the ticket olny mentioned like 4 artist. Mos Def set stood out the most. He did alot of my favorite songs like Umi Says and even did this 2 step dance/really put on a show. He also did some black star songs with Talib Kweli. I’ll never forget the night. The bartender even walked up to us and randomly said she liked our free sprit style and gave us some free drinks lol. That was one of the best nights I had. I always wanted to see Mos in concert again. I love just about all his albums. Especially Black On Both Sides. I would listen to it on my walk to school all the time. My favorite songs by him are probally Umi Says, Ms Fat Booty, Habitat, Mathematics, and Casa Bey. Probally Ms Fat Booty the most. They would play the video all the time late at night on BET. That video and the song had this vibe that I love about Hip Hop that I still never really seen again since I was a kid. It’s a classic.

    17. I would love tickets to the L.A. show because A)Sparkle Pretty I never met you but you gotta be a fine mf’er wit a name like that and B)Mos has been a top 5 MC to me since the black star days. I haven’t seen him since college and it would be a lifetime opportunity to see him again before he retires.

    18. 1, 2, 3… Mos Def, Molly & me!!!! I DEFinitely would like to take my cousin Molly, who is recovering breast cancer surgery to the show in Los Angeles! As much as I will enjoy it, I know that she will cherish it even more! Hook us up.

    19. Sacramento! Sac Town! I should be the lucky winner because: universal magnetic. Ms fat booty. Umi says. Oh no! Black on both sides. The New Danger. Mathematics. Blackstar. True Magic. Lyricist Lounge. Re:definition. Respiration. Speed Law. Super magic. Soundbombing. Bboy document. Boogie man. Brown skin lady. If you don’t know what any of that means then you don’t deserve the tickets lol. Black on both sides got me thru some pretty rough stuff in high school that blackstar pretty much set the tone for the type of music I would continue to listen to from then til now. I hope this isn’t really his farewell tour. pick me. I’ll be in the front row rappin word for word. Sac town!!!

    20. Sooo… I missed my friend’s birthday last month and his favorite artist is Yasiin Bey (Mos). We’ve seen Talib multiple times but never Mos because of his lack of touring. This would be a great makeup gift to not only him, but also to the people of Sacramento, especially how hip-hop let us all down with Kanye.

    21. I frequent with this site a lot, I love what yall do. I have some new and innovative ways to market these giveaways on this site. Although this Mos Def comment section is jumpin, the other giveaways no so… Granted you guys do get into a position where you cant give the tickets away if you wanted to due to the caliber of the artist. I would like to know who I can contact, Im a creative marketing mastermind full of ideas. I want to work with DX I like whats going on here. I have been a member for years now. Ive watched this site grow, and I want to help expand. Let me know HOW…. I want LA Tickets, only if I will be able to meet some of you there.

    22. Mos Def/ Yasiin Bey tix My B-Day present From HHDX 12/15…happy 36th to me …btw i live in Sac 5min from the venue.

      Thanx

    23. 1. I would like to get these tickets because I personally feel that Mos Def is one of the best artist in Hip Hop history. Black on Both Sides is a classic in my opinion. I can listen to every track on there. It saddens me to see the man retire, but I can understand why he would choose to do so. Hip Hop today is just not what it used to be. Most older rappers are changing their styles to adapt to the new “trap style” that everyone is doing. And I just cannot see Mos Def selling out like that. He has always been about quality and meaning. THAT is why I dig his music. Anyway, it would great to be able to see him perform for the first time for me, since this will most likely be the last opportunity to experience a concert by him. This would actually be my first Hip Hop concert that I would attend. I always wanted to go to one, but never had the opportunity.

      2. I would be closer to the Beverly Hills location.

    24. My very first concert was Mos Def in ’99 and it would mean a lot to be in attendance for one of HIS last shows ever. I would love tickets to the LA show…

    25. hhhmmm, well i’ll tackle this from another angle than what i’m seeing. so everyone knows that he’s doing this tour now because he just got out of South Africa. the hang up was a passport issue. not just any passport but a world citizen passport, which i also have. i think it would be interesting to bring two world citizens together, maybe we won’t talk but to be in attendance would be just the same. i also emailed back and forth w/ David Gallup, the president and general counsel of the World Service Authority. so you see my connection is a little more personal than just the music. which is obviously fantastic. why else would we be attempting to win tickets, right? also dec 99th seems more in tune w/ my political and revolutionary mindset. thank you kindly.
      p.s. sac town show.

    26. Mos Def is the TRUTH period. Seen him multiple times in the Philadelphia area over the years. Never been to LA need to go to give him a proper farewell. Peace.

    27. Well first of all I just wanna thank you guys for the opportunity overhere. Second, well……Im just tryna see one of the GREATEST Mcs to EVER grace the mic, YASIIN BEY! It’s been a good month where I’ve just been bumping nothing but that Black on both Sides and The Ecstatic because they’re just classics and now that this opportunity arises it feels amazing. I could go on and mention alot of his songs but that’s way too cliche so I’ll keep it a little more genuine. I don’t know if I’ve done enough to get them tix but honestly just try to give em to a true hip hop head that’ll appreciate his greatness. Btw I’m in LA yo. Thanks alot anyway. Stay blessed.

    28. Have been a big fan of Yasiin Bey since I could remember, from listening to thieves in the night for the first time I became a fan of him and talib kweli, so to be seeing his farewell tour would be a nice and proper goodbye in LA, since I live around there, to one of the best.
Thanks for reading this. Have a nice day.

      1. I’ve never been to any concert before and since Mos Def/Yasiin Bey came into my life I promised myself I’d do anything to see him live, meet him, something anything. This is more than a concert to me. This is my idol.

    29. Mos Def is one of my favs. It’s been a tough year, from getting face paralysis to getting fired. It would be nice to end the year with this concert in Los Angeles. Thanks.

    30. Yasiin Bey. I met the love of my life through his music. I have never seen him live. Someone has offered to watch my kids that night and I haven’t been out with my husband in years. This would be an amazing experience and we would be so grateful to win tickets to the Sacramento show. Peace and one love!

    31. What a great birthday present this would be for me and my sisters! We are triplets and we absolutely love Yasin! We’ve been listening to him since way back in high school! Thank you for this great opportunity ❤️?

    32. I don’t know if I’m the most deserving fan to win these tickets because I know there are fans that are equally as passionate as I am. However, if chosen, you would be choosing a fan that would appreciate the moment to see him live one last time like any die hard should. I’d be honored by the opportunity but understand if it went to another deserving fan. Peace
