Wale’s “Festivus” Mixtape Inspired By “Seinfeld” Episode

MMG rapper Wale recently announced that he will release a mixtape titled Festivus prior to his forthcoming album, The Album About Nothing.

In a new promotional visual released by Complex, Wale ponders his next move in the studio. The Gifted rapper acknowledges his peers J. Cole and Nicki Minaj releasing albums this year while he flips through a variety of channels on a television.

Throughout the clip, the voices of several Seinfeld cast members can be heard intertwining with Wale’s poetic thoughts. As Wale turns the channel to a Seinfeld episode, the origin of his mixtape’s title can be observed.

Festivus spawned from a Seinfeld show in which Jerry and the cast come up with a fictional holiday. Wale has chosen to release his mixtape on December 23, the same day the characters celebrated Festivus.

In addition to revealing his plans to release Festivus, the DMV-bred rapper also released “Miracle on U Street,” a go-go laden track that will not appear on the mixtape.

    1. dis nigga lame. get off seinfelds nuts for a minute and let them breathe. how sad is it that the only shit anyone ever talks about from this guy was his seinfeld raps.

      1. YA man this cat lame…..he should rap about guns and shooting people like I did…..that’s the winning formula, not seinfeld

      2. yea true, what is up with him and seinfeld. its fine for maybe a mixtape or two but anything beyond that is overkill.
