Promoter Walter Conwell of G.D.B. promotions has filed suit against booking agents at Hitt Afta Hitt Entertainment, alleging the company wasted thousands of dollars booking Waka Flocka Flame for a June 2009 show in Birmingham, Alabama, which he never performed.
In the lawsuit, G.D.B. claims they paid an $1,800 deposit, and promised Waka Flocka another $1,500 upon arrival. The company’s executives were later told that the rapper would not be able to perform due to a scheduling conflict.
G.D.B. was latter approached by the rapper’s mother, who agreed that Waka Flocka would honor the date if he were paid a new fee of $4,000, in addition to a new fee for his road manager.
Apparently, the rapper refused to commit to the June date, and wanted the concert moved to November.
G.D.B. Promotions is seeking $60,000 in damages and $1 million in punitive damages in addition to legal fees.
“G.D.B. was latter approached by the rapper’s mother”
last spelling mistake I’ll put up with on DX. raprader.com from now on. these simpleton “journalists” need to go back to grade school.
You call DX out on misspelling, then you spell “raprader.com” wrong. impressive.
FUCK this bullshit man…SLUT Kuperstein or who ever in the hell is doing the recent hiphopdx.com news needs to formally check there goddamn spelling and errors. I read these articles from you guys and the spelling is HORRIBLE as fuck. Proofread your stories and ALL YOUR PREVIOUS shit, then fucking post it. Period.
as a former writer and editor of a newspaper, I’d like to say that you’re an idiot. mistakes always go through, no matter what. if you don’t like it, move on to a different source

And that is the problem…They always get through! Thinking is not your strong suit, captain obviously arrogant.Being a professionbal entails two things, primarirly that it is your job, hence the root word profession; secondary one should be good at their job. I’m guessing you are neither.

many your production company/promotion companys have no clue..they have money to spend and thinks they can become promoter /producer of live events overnight..its not that simple..any ac that is booked needs to have a legitmate theatrical agency handleing their business ..not managers..managers are not sanction/licensed to handle “employmentz” yes I said employment..licensed employment agencys are bonded and had escrow accounts in case of differculty..mothers..fathers..uncles..bro’man are not authorizsed to receive..solicit or guarantee any live or otherwise employment for any artist/talent / or service render for a fee..most hip hoppers say give my manager the money..and many just go we promote over 200 show a year ..and we don’t do rap shows..unless they are signed to a legitimate ageny..i.e Wm.Morris/endeaver/ ICM / Universal/ Caa/ Concern Efforts/ APA / Paradigm/ etc..etc..see out legitimate promoter conference coming to nyc sponsored by billboard magazine..see billboardtouringconference.com..and our world wide music touring conference in january ..see apap.org / and coming next week..cmj.com these are places where legitmate agent showcase their roster too…you (ntr) (non traditional revenue)..promoters need to come ang let me give you a lesson on how..where to and who too..stay up and pay attention ..because you here a group on your radio and you have the funds..does not make you a promoter..its a business of presenting ..and knowing how to buy and who to buy from….hope you lean something and if not call me I would be glad to walk you through the process….sparkie martin @ 404-207-8834 /sparkwado@yahoo.com or come and see felaonbroadway.com / or come see some real shows..@BBKINGBLUES.COM / reminder do not do artist/to manger deals..they are non supportive..and send all your deposit money to an escrow account as protection for what just occured..especially when you get stuck up by the mother for more chedda for 40 minutes on stage..risk vs.reward..
