Waka Flocka Flame Says He Hated On Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp A Butterfly”

    Waka Flocka Flame says that he wasn’t a fan of Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly album upon initial review.

    “I was one of those people that hated on @kendricklamar second album but now….,” Waka Flocka Flame wrote on Twitter Saturday (July 4). “I can’t stop pushing repeat shit… it’s the message #PureGenius #WeGoneBeAlright

    Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Buttlerfly got 5 out of 5 Xs in its HipHopDX review.

    “Kendrick lyrically invites weighty comparisons to all-time greats and does so on an album lathered in undeniable rhythms and universal themes: Equality, classism, spirituality, justice for all,” HipHopDX’s Editor-in-Chief Justin Hunte wrote in his March 17, 2015 review of the album. “…For an an hour and 19 minutes, Kendrick Lamar revels in his inspirations while simultaneously pushing artistic margins through his visceral dramatization of the age in which we live.”

    In April, Waka Flocka Flame announced that he is running for president.
