Waka Flocka Flame‘s new girlfriend Mel and his soon-to-be ex-wife Tammy Rivera got into a bit of a tiff on social media this week.
It all started with a post from Tammy on her Instagram Story on Monday (March 11), which some perceived as a dig at her ex’s new girl.

The meme read: “No one can ever make me jealous over a seat I had first. You wouldn’t be sitting there if I didn’t get up.”
Seemingly in response, Mel posted a meme to her story. It read: “Being washed up and can’t let go of your past is type crazy.” She also had Diddy and Bryson Tiller‘s song “Gotta Move On” playing, while adding at the bottom: “This is the one, cuz it’s giving jealous and bitter.”

When The Neighborhood Talk posted both stories and theorized they may be subliminal disses at one another, Tammy popped up in the comments. She made it clear that though she wasn’t throwing shade initially, she certainly is now.
“Man I’m just waking up it’s 9am over where I’m at [face palm emoji],” she began. “Waka we literally just talked about this last night (your morning).. Waka get her please for I hurt this lil girl feelings. Oh btw that post wasn’t even about him nor you but hit dogs holla. You f’king up your seat Shein Tammy.”
A follower of the blog then commented that Tammy made herself look “embarrassing” with her response and that she was basically verifying she’s now a side chick to her ex – and she had a response for that as well.
“Sweetie we talked cause our daughter and to be honest we still legally married so we have to talk cause we have business that has to be handled until them papers are signed! Grown ppl business.”

Waka Flocka Flame hard launched his new love in January, but he was immediately met with pushback from fans who had gotten to know and love him and Tammy as a couple over the years. The pair split in 2022 after eight years.
Taking to his Instagram Story weeks after debuting Mel, Waka got vulnerable about how the comments affected him.
“One of the toughest pills for me to swallow in life for me is i gotta hide my happiness… man i’m built for it but this shit stinging,” he wrote.
Speaking to HipHopDX in August 2022, Waka Flocka Flame acknowledged there were plenty of things he could’ve done differently to prevent a divorce.
When asked if he imagined going through a divorce on television, he responded sternly: “Fuck no. I chose this life 14, 15 years ago, the whole relationship, when I chose to get in this arena of being a celebrity, so it is what it is.

“It’s definitely depressing with egg on your face, but when it’s like, for me, it just feels more comforting to say, ‘Man, I feel like I caused it.'”
He added: “That’s me being a bigger man. That’s not saying me, I’m the reason that we split. That’s not the reason. There’s no reason. That cheating stuff, that shit happened eight years ago. The reason we split is … there’s no reason […] It was just a mutual feeling.”
