Waka Flocka Flame & Desi Banks Take Playing Spades To Another Level With New Podcast

Waka Flocka Flame and Desi Banks are all set to launch their new podcast next month, with a star-studded lineup of guests set to appear in their first run of episodes.

On Wednesday (August 23), the pair announced the September 11 release of We Playin’ Spades via Wondery. As the name suggests, the show will feature the rapper and comedian playing cards punctuated with conversations and anecdotes.

“Spades to Black people is like kayaking to white people,” Banks said about the upcoming series. “Nobody teaches you how to do it. You just get thrown into it and eventually you figure it out. Once you learn the game, you get amnesia and forget that at one point, you didn’t know what the hell you were doing. It brings out a whole new level of competitiveness, but that’s truly what makes it such a good time. I’m excited to partner with Waka and chat with some amazing entertainers while playing spades.”

The initial lineup of celebrity players set to join the duo consists of Jay Pharoah, Nick Cannon, KaMillion and Lil Rel Howery, among others.

“Ain’t no one play Spades like me and Desi, and the guests are hungry to take the throne or witness the champs fall,” the Atlanta rapper said about his latest endeavor. “Folks gonna be tuning in for the game, but they gonna stick around for all the craziness, good vibes, and deep conversations we sharing.

“Now, I ain’t guaranteeing we gonna yard the guests every time, but Desi and me, we coming in with that sauce, and we expecting our guests to bring they A game too. You just gotta peep to just how fierce the competition gets when them stakes be high, and the conversations be deep… Issa a wild ride, believe that!”

Waka is a busy man, which means he doesn’t always have the time to say “yes” to every request or opportunity that comes his way. That is precisely why T.I.’s son recently voiced his frustrations over the trap star disregarding his invite for his 19th birthday celebration.

In early August, King C’Andre Harris took to social media to share the unfortunate news in an extremely somber tone.

“It’s one n-gga that I’m hurt about mane,” he began. “Shit done hurt me mane but it’s iight — ’cause I know how shit be. Waka Flocka. I reached out to Waka Flocka. N-gga left me on seen. That’s crazy. But, shit man, maybe one day.”

He added: “Maybe one day. Me and Waka come from the same side too so that shit crazy.”
