Waka Flocka Flame Credits His Mother, Debra Antney, For Careers Of Gucci Mane & Nicki Minaj

Waka Flocka Flame is looking to receive credit where credit’s due, and that’s for his mama, Debra Antney.

In a newly-released video, the rapper went on to offer some clarification on the origins of his reignited feud with Gucci Mane. According to Waka, he’s upset at the fact that Gucci is the sole person credited for starting his career, as well as the music careers of others, including Nicki Minaj.

He added that credit belongs instead to his mother.

“I would just say this a little bit about Gucci,” Waka Flocka Flame said in a video obtained by TMZ. “My fans deserve for me to elaborate on why I went so hard at a person that quote-unquote started my career. And to make the record straight, my mother started my career. My mother started Gucci’s career. My mother started Nicki’s career. [OJ da] Juiceman’s career. French Montana’s career. Lex Luger as a producer. She molded us all.”

Antney spoke on Gucci and Waka’s feud in an interview with HipHopDX’s Ural Garrett back in November and hinted there’s more to the situation than meets the public eye.

“The one thing that I know regardless of whatever they say is that they love each other,” she said of Gucci and Waka. “That’s one thing that I definitely know. Both of them are headstrong people. If they should reunite then that’s on them. If not, then that’s what it’s supposed to be. I know a lot of people would love to see them come together. Those calls come all the time. There are even calls of people wishing they could tour. I don’t see them staying away from each other forever. I don’t see that. It just has to happen in real time. That’s it. The world should really mind their business. I just have to add that cause that’s one of the biggest things. The world and the people need to really mind their business cause people know more than you know let them tell it.”

The latest from Waka comes days after he dropped “Was My Dawg,” a record that appears to take clear aim at Guwop.

He goes on to namedrop Brick Squad, and even references Gucci’s time spent behind bars.

“Always yellin’ Brick Squad, always talking fam first/ When yo’ ass got locked up, you turned on the fam first/ Always takin’ fuckin’ credit, never put in no work/ Used my name for leverage, before they front you, they gon’ call first,” Waka raps on “Was My Dawg.”

Despite Waka’s commentary on Gucci in interviews and the release of “Was My Dawg,” Gucci Mane has yet to address his former comrade publicly.

    1. Perfect story name. Cry over spilled milk. Boo hoo man Gucci has not said anything about this guy and has extended his hand in trying to end the beef but this guy keeps at it. Man just move on if you can’t get over whatever happened with you and Gucci. Sorry but keeep it up if you want, I’m just saying it’s not helping you sell any records

    2. Is he about to drop another wack album after five years since the last flop or why he keep runnin his mouth? Didn’t Gucci imply (during his infamous Twitter meltdown) that some Deb artist was sleepin with her, i think he said Frenchie or OJ

    3. wacka is like that old girlfriend that keeps on calling once she nows you are getting a lot of money, just hung up on that bitch!

    4. 5. To you youngins out here. Everything Waka says is true. You were sucking on yo mama’s titties when all this went down.

    6. It’s true tho. Deb Antney was instrumental in getting Nicki’s career to where it’s at today, per being her manager. It’s not new to those of us who knows Nicki’s history/come up in the game. It’s also common knowledge how she ditched everybody (including Deb) she came in the game with once she signed with Wayne and Young Money/Cash Money. Including Full Force, the group who originally put her on. Every single one of these people have said similar things over the course of her career. Nobody cared to listen to their warnings about her once she blew up. That’s why Remy’s disses were credible. Of course this current generation is clueless tho. They don’t research the artist they blindly follow. Even when they do get exposed they refuse to admit it, all because they’re rich and famous. Yet they ask for these “rappers” to keep it real. Oxymoron much?.
