Vince Staples wasn’t exactly all smiles at the premiere of his self-titled Netflix show — and had a hilarious reason why.
The Long Beach rapper posed for photographs on the red carpet at the Los Angeles event on Monday (February 12) and seemed to get annoyed by the amount of photos he had to take.

One photographer then asked him to smile but Vince — who is known for his dry humor — responded: “Can’t do it. That’s racist,” with some of the press in attendance laughing.

The Vince Staples Show premieres on Netflix on Thursday (February 15) after it was originally announced in September 2022.
The series stars Staples as a fictionalized version of himself and is based on his own life and set in his hometown of Long Beach.

The Ramona Park Broke My Heart MC revealed the trailer for the show in January, which featured a cameo from Rick Ross.
Upon announcing the project, Vince said in a statement: “I am excited to partner with Netflix and Kenya Barris on The Vince Staples Show. This has been something I have been developing for some time and I am happy it’s coming to fruition.”

Vince Staples has acted before in Abbott Elementary and the remake of White Men Can’t Jump which also starred Jack Harlow.
“I think the best thing about Snoop is that he never felt out of reach,” he said on NBA star Paul George’s Podcast P show. “He’s never being weird, bro, there’s no other way to put it; he’s just not weird.

“Being a kid, I don’t think I even like realized how big — all him, Warren G — I didn’t realize how big all of them were ’cause you would just see them on a random day amongst their people.”
He added: “As far as I know, especially with us as children, it was always a positive interaction. You learned a lot from that, especially coming from street life.”
