Vince Staples dropped his “Señorita” single yesterday (May 4). Today (May 5), he announced Summertime ’06, his forthcoming album, which is slated for a June 30 release.

The follow up to Hell Can Wait is being executive-produced by No I.D.

It’s also being released under the producer’s label, ARTium, in conjunction with Blacksmith/Def Jam Recordings.

Vince Staples says that Summertime ’06 presents an examination of himself and his family.

“Ain’t nothing realer than the truth,” the Long Beach, California rapper said in a press release from Def Jam Recordings.  “Ain’t nothing better than the truth, like I really did all that.  I really seen all that.  I really been around that my whole life.”

You can take a tour of his Long Beach, California neighborhood in a video published by Complex.
