UPDATE #5: Vince Staples’ Summertime ’06 is now available to stream via Spotify.
Summertime ’06 singles “Senorita” and “Get Paid” had already been available on the platform.
The 20-track album was originally imagined as a one-disc project, but was expanded into a double album.
The Summertime ’06 stream is below.
(The first edition of this article was published May 5, 2015. That information is as follows.)
Vince Staples dropped his “Señorita” single yesterday (May 4). Today (May 5), he announced Summertime ’06, his forthcoming album, which is slated for a June 30 release.
The follow up to Hell Can Wait is being executive-produced by No I.D.
It’s also being released under the producer’s label, ARTium, in conjunction with Blacksmith/Def Jam Recordings.
Vince Staples says that Summertime ’06 presents an examination of himself and his family.
“Ain’t nothing realer than the truth,” the Long Beach, California rapper said in a press release from Def Jam Recordings. “Ain’t nothing better than the truth, like I really did all that. I really seen all that. I really been around that my whole life.”
You can take a tour of his Long Beach, California neighborhood in a video published by Complex.

In summer 06, ross was going platinum with port of miami.
Ross never went platinum at all.
Promo video for mastermind said otherwise.
The promo video lied. POM did not go platinum. Get over it and move on.
It went platinum whether your ross hating, 50 (curly) dickriding ass admits it or not.
Again, POM did not go platinum. And I didn’t even mention 50 Cent, you did, which makes you the dickrider.
Ross has had platinum singles but 0 platinum albums
Hope there’s features and they just aren’t listed, I think Staples could recruit a ton of dope MCs to work with him, and we know he works with Earl and Mac a lot.
Yes i hope mac and earl on this album
