The unedited Mariah Carey images from the singer’s shoot with Terry Richardson, have reportedly been released via Jezebel.
The website says it obtained the unaltered Mariah Carey images exclusively and that it features heavy retouching on the singer. Beyond this, the report also addresses Richardson’s signature point-and-shoot style, which was used in this shoot.
“What’s supposed to be so remarkable about Richardson’s signature style is how his otherwise amateur methods, when used to shoot high-profile celebs, create uniquely candid portraits that appear to be at once documentary and aspirational,” Jezebel writes. “His bare bones sets and harsh flashes suggest a spontaneity that is meant to imply the authenticity of that particular moment. But this doesn’t seem very authentic at all.”
Jezebel published the reportedly unaltered images and the reportedly altered images in gif form to note the changes.
