Tyrese has been embroiled in a messy divorce and child support battle with ex Samantha Lee for some time, but it’s his ex-wife from a prior marriage that is currently the subject of his vitriol.
In a long Instagram post on Wednesday (May 1), the singer/actor lobbed a myriad of accusations against Norma Mitchell Gibson, with whom he shares 16-year-old daughter Shayla, and asserted that he’s no longer going to live in fear of what she may do next.

Back in March, Tyrese filed court documents asking the court to shut down Samantha’s attempt to have him found in contempt of not paying child support.
Lee had filed a motion earlier this year alleging that the actor had been refusing to pay the full $10,000 per month he had been ordered to pay. Instead, she said he paid her less than half in December 2023 and January 2024.
She then pointed to multiple trips overseas he’d taken to say that he had the money and was just not using it for child support.
In his filed response, Tyrese’s lawyer noted that his income has been significantly impacted in recent years – especially because no Fast & Furious movie has been made as of late.

His lawyer noted the 2023 Hollywood actors and writers strikes impacted his income as well. In addition, the attorney claimed the vacations in question were inexpensive because the flights were paid for with miles and he stayed with friends overseas.
A judge has yet to rule on the matter.
