Tyler, The Creator Curved Jerrod Carmichael After He Admitted He’s ‘In Love’ With Him

Tyler, The Creator rejected comedian Jerrod Carmichael after he declared his love for him.

The two friends sat down for an in-depth conversation on the comedian’s new series Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show where Carmichael revealed he shared his feelings towards the rapper in 2021.

Tyler, who has hinted that he may be gay or bisexual in the past, responded by calling him a “stupid bitch.”

Carmichael also asked Tyler to be his date to the Emmy Awards in 2022 but was turned down.

The pair sat down on the show to discuss the incident, with Tyler commenting: “Getting news like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change. I didn’t think brushing that off and continuing regularly would be such a dent. I don’t know.”

Tyler also confessed to not seeing Carmichael in a romantic light: “That’s like a brother. That man’s like family.”

Carmichael admitted to being hurt by Tyler’s response, saying: “It’s because I told you I had feelings for you, and we didn’t talk about it, ever. That was, like, weird.

“I don’t know if it was just too awkward to talk about or just too… I don’t know. I feel like you left me hanging out there a little bit.”

Carmichael, who made numerous cameos on Tyler’s Grammy-winning album IGOR, also acknowledged that he had “unrequited” feelings for the Odd Future founder.

Earlier in the episode, Carmichael detailed the incident as part of a stand-up routine.

“I fell in love with my best friend. 1 out of 10, don’t recommend,” he joked. “I knew I had to tell him. Things started getting kind of weird between us. I had these feelings.

“So I texted him. I remember saying, ‘I know you didn’t ask for this, but somewhere down the line I developed feelings for you and I don’t know what to do with that.’ Then I immediately turned my phone off and went into therapy.”

He added: “My therapist was thrilled. He was so excited! He was like, ‘Man, this shit never happens in real time.’”

Tyler, The Creator previously apologized for hiding his sexuality for many years.

On his 2023 track “Sorry Not Sorry,” he rapped: “Sorry to the freaks I led on/ Who thought their life was gonna change ’cause I gave ’em head on/ But instead, I sped off, yeah, I know I’m dead wrong/ Sorry to the guys I had to hide/ Sorry to the girls I had to lie to, who ain’t need to know if I was by the lake switchin’ tides, too.”

    1. Respect to everyone going through these struggles. I was born in the early 80’s, I know the jokes gay men my age grew up listening to from their friends, and the social pressures. That’s a lot to go up against just to be yourself. And we haven’t even got to the Christianity angle. So, please believe my respect is sincere.

That being said, Jerrod Carmichael appears to be commodifying the idea like it’s some kind of niche market to be exploited. And that is one of the sIuttiest things I’ve ever fkn seen. They don’t make water hot enough to wash that off.

To quote U2’s The Edge in the major motion picture Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping…

He’s talking about being gay like it’s not allowed. IT’S ALLOWED NOW.

      To quote myself…

We welcome you. We support you. You have officially made it. Anyone who says otherwise is garbage, and they’ll always be garbage, because they come from garbage. Now shut up while you still got some of your soul left. And I think those who paved the way deserve better.
