Tyler, The Creator Banned From United Kingdom

Tyler, The Creator has been banned from the United Kingdom, according to his Twitter account and his manager, Christian Clancy.

Tyler explains on Twitter today (August 26) why he canceled four shows in the UK and Ireland last week.

“BASED ON LYRICS FROM 2009 I AM NOT ALLOWED IN THE UK FOR 3-5 YEARS ( although i was there 8 weeks ago),” he writes. “THAT IS WHY THE SHOWS WERE CANCELLED.”

Clancey further explained the situation on his blog, The Phuckery. He says that they received a letter from the Secretary of State for the Home Department that cites lyrics from Tyler’s 2010 Bastard and 2011 Goblin albums as reason for banning the Los Angeles rapper.

“Highlights from the letter include that his work ‘encourages violence and intolerance of homosexuality’ and ‘fosters hatred with views thats seek to provoke others to terrorist acts,'” Clancey writes.

He continues by saying that Tyler has been in the UK more than 20 times since releasing those albums and was in London last month for an event.

“This is a broader issue of free speech,” Clancey says, “with new lines being drawn that include reaching back in time without acknowledging growth. in fact, punishing growth.”

The secretary’s duty as outlined in the official government website include “security and terrorism, legislative programme and expenditure issues.”

Initially, the Odd Future rapper said, “THE CANCELING OF THE SHOWS ARE BEYOND MY CONTROL.”

Tyler, The Creator also cancelled his shows in Australia this month amid controversy involving a special interest group seeking to ban him from the country.

    1. Intolerance of homosexuality???

Wow, so is that how much power society has given the homosexual community? So much so that you can be banned from countries for alleged intolerance? I’m sorry but this is bullshit.

      1. No intolerance is unacceptable but Tyler isnt intolerant hes grown up since those releases. Does everyone seem to forget how Tyler has openly voiced the fact that he isnt about all that hateful shit.

    2. Tyler the creator they just hatin on you keep pressing the buttons of them no teeth shit under fingernails because they don’t wash their hands bloody bitch ass muthafuckaz

      1. your right it is not part of the uk. but the article did say the uk AND Ireland. Not that Ireland was part of it.

      2. Lol @ the f@ggot talking about supporting combat 18 skinhead pussies, while on a hiphop site. Confused racist weirdo.

    3. Funny how they ban him for those particular lyrics yet they won’t ban anyone for inciting violence against black people.

    4. Well trying to be a white boy didn’t help his career at all. Always funny younger generation has their “you’re still black” moment. You ain’t Eminem

    5. So you’re telling me that while England’s being flooded by non-EU immigrants from Calais we ban this guy instead? Govt needs to get its priorities straight

      1. Also the leading party here (Conservatives) outlawed homosexuality back in the past but now they’re defending it and legalising it. Talk about massive irony

      2. England isn’t being “flooded by non-EU immigrants” you fucking fud – stop reading the daily mail while wanking, you might learn something.

        Twat

      3. You are talking about a political party made up of many people. Not one person who writes and raps their own lyrics. Tyler is terrible anyway. UK and AUS aren’t missing anything.

    6. Mahatma Baker – Yes, the UK is being flooded with both EU migrants and non-EU migrants. Name calling doesn’t change reality.

    7. I’m from the UK, and this is absolute bullshit. He’s banned from countries for what he says?! Why don’t we just go ahead and ban people like Eminem and N.W.A?

    8. I’m not really down with much of Tylers shit, but come the fuck on. What kind of madness is this? They keep banning him from countries for his lyrics? It’s art and freedom of expression. No one listens to Tyler and thinks “hmmmm might go kill some people, burn some shit and also fuck school.” “if Tyler can be Dracula, I might kidnap a bitch and hit her with an axe”. What the fuck is wrong with these adults. The sooner these old fogies die off, the better.
