Tyler, The Creator has carved out a career as a bit of an oddball, so it’s no surprise that his review of Bun B‘s Trill Burgers is bizarre — but also endearing.

In 2021, Bun B opened Trill Burgers in Houston, specializing in thin, crispy-edged smashburgers popularized in California. Over time, his business grew, and he became known for having some of the “best burgers in the America.”

Several Hip Hop figures have endorsed the Texas native’s business, and on Saturday (April 15) Bun took to Instagram to share a clip of Tyler tasting the burgers for the first time backstage at Coachella.

Tyler’s critique of Trill Burgers included both praise and criticism, displaying his trademarked eye for detail and wit. “Ooo, n-gga you better hope this shit ain’t week as fuck,” he says at the start of the clip.

Tyler appears unclear of opinion when he first bites into the hamburger, but despite his dislike of pickles and onions, he ends up revealing that he thinks the burger is quite tasty.

“This a good burger,” he says after some lengthy silence. “This is a good burger, [and] I don’t fuck with the onions but, on the burger it’s good.”

He continues: ” I give it like a strong, like, ‘Oh, I’m moving, my friend can help me move a couch because he’s strong.’ Like Roots’ Black Spirit strong, 8.3.”

Following his bizarre review, he then kisses Bun B on the hand before moving away from the camera.

It’s nothing new for the Odd Future founder to share exactly what’s on his mind. Prior to the release of his deluxe album, Call Me If You Get Lost: Estate Sale, the rapper released a track entitled “Sorry Not Sorry”, in which he apologized for hiding his sexuality.

At the beginning of the video, DJ Drama opens the track by continuously screaming: “I’m sorry!” which is a prelude to the amount of beg-pardons Tyler drops throughout the desert-set visual.

Tyler, The Creator then apologizes to the men and women who he lied to about his sexuality. Many people believe he came out as gay on his 2017 LP Flower Boy.

“Sorry to the freaks I led on/ Who thought their life was gonna change ’cause I gave ’em head on/ But instead, I sped off, yeah, I know I’m dead wrong/ Sorry to the guys I had to hide/ Sorry to the girls I had to lie to, who ain’t need to know if I was by the lake switchin’ tides, too,” he raps over the sample-heavy track.

Tyler also extends apologies to his mother, his “old friends,” “the fans who said I changed,” his ancestors and even those whose pronouns he gets wrong.
