Travis Scott Awarding $1M In Scholarships To 100 Black College Students

Travis Scott’s comeback tour continued when he took the stage to perform at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards over the weekend and now, he’s looking to give back to the community through his Cactus Jack Foundation.

La Flame pledged $1 million to 100 Black college students studying at HBCUs via his Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund named after his grandfather. All of the recipients are second-semester senior students with GPAs above 3.5 who needed financial assistance to receive their diplomas and graduate on time.

“Excellence abounds in every Black household, but too often opportunity does not – and Black students are left behind or counted out,” Scott said in a statement. “So that’s what my family and I set out to change. We congratulate all 100 scholarship recipients this year. I know we will see great things from them – and we are already looking forward to increasing our work next year.”

Colleges represented by the students receiving the grant from Travis include Alabama A&M University, Central State University, Florida A&M University, Jackson State University, Morehouse College, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Prairie View A&M University.

On the music side, Travis hasn’t released any singles in 2022 besides hopping on Southside’s “Hold That Heat” with Future. However, he performed an unreleased track titled “Lost Forever” at the BBMAs that fans are expecting to be his next single.

    1. Told you ‘they’ are racists. Don’t support colors that don’t support yours. And why just black scholars and not even brown ones? Dude killed several of them last time.

    2. Imagine Leonardo Dicaprio giving it to 100 WHITE students, black ppl would say that’s RACIST, cancel Leonardo and bla bla bla……black ppl a joke now days.

    3. this is the problem, its not a race thing, its a wealth thing. i know its hard for you to understand but they’re poor people of every race. they make you think blacks are the only poors. got a big news flash for you buddy.
