Timbaland wants to see Kanye West headline the Super Bowl halftime show, even though he thinks the rest of the population isn’t “ready” for such a spectacle.
On Tuesday (February 14), the legendary producer took to his Instagram Story to share his thoughts with fans about Ye potentially performing at the Super Bowl in the future.

With Kanye’s history of extravagant and innovative live concerts, Timbaland thinks it would be the equivalent of other legendary performances such as Motown 25, the 1983 television special that celebrated 25 years of the iconic label.
“Yo, I was thinking, if Kanye was to do the Super Bowl, that almost would be like watching Motown 25 ’cause that boy is serious. Don’t you ever forget it,” said Timbo, who famously lent his production talents to Yeezy’s Graduation hit “Stronger” back in 2007.
He added in his caption: “Dat boy Ye doing the Super Bowl they wouldn’t be ready.”
Fans were split in their reactions. Some felt it could be the greatest Super Bowl performance in history given Ye’s renowned creativity and catalog of hits, while others thought it could be a complete disaster given his penchant for controversial outbursts.
“Ye doing the Super Bowl would be the greatest thing in Super Bowl history,” one fan wrote on Akademiks’ above Instagram post, whereas another said: “It would be the greatest halftime show of all time but after that whole Jew controversy that’s NEVER gonna happen.”

Another person chimed in with: “Ye has become such a huge potential liability that I would expect for him to stop the show and remind everyone that he’s not being paid for this and call out the team owners and various company CEO’s Greatest Half-Time Show in history.”
The NFL has come under fire over a number of issues in recent years, including its stance on racism and police brutality. However, the league has made progress to repair their image, such as launching various initiatives and hiring JAY-Z as a live music consultant.
Timbaland’s comments come just days after Rihanna took the stage for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show on February 12. Coincidentally, the elaborate stage design and Yeezy-esque outfits drew plenty of Kanye West comparisons.

RiRi even performed two of her collaborations with Kanye, “All of the Lights” and “Run This Town.” The Chicago rap mogul was at one point rumored to join the Bajan billionaire onstage for the performance.
