Timbaland Accepts Beat Battle Challenge From Swizz Beatz

During a press conference on Friday (July 14) for the upcoming Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight, producer Swizz Beatz grabbed the mic and challenged fellow beatsmith Timbaland to a beat battle, claiming he’d been “talking shit.”

“Timbaland wanna talk shit too,” Swizz said. “Timbaland wanna talk shit, so everybody out there tell Timbaland we can have a battle. We can battle. We can do whatever he wanna do.”

Timbaland accepted his offer in an Instagram video of his own. “Swizz … challenge accepted,” Timbo said. “I’m with the smoke. That’s right. You hear that Game of Throne? You have woken up the king.”

Swizz responded via Twitter with, “You don’t want no smoke.”

Ten years ago, Swizz battled Kanye West at a Hot 97 Summer Jam and he recently took on Just Blaze during an Instagram Live battle. He was also in the studio with Pharrell recently and there was a rumor floating around that a Pharrell vs. Swizz battle was also on the table, but for now, we’ll have to see how Timbo stacks up against the Bronx native.

No official date has been set for the epic showdown as of yet, but plenty of fans are hyped for the impending battle, while others are evidently still waiting on the Pharrell vs. Swizz event. Check out those below.

    1. Im sorry but Timbo got way more musical talent then Swizz all Swizz beats never have any melody its just noises n shit. I rarely like any of his beats they all sound kinda cheesy and annoying

    2. Swizz and Timbo got that fire production…it aint about the beat making itself..its what they produce. I’m rolling with Swizzy. ITS SHOWTIME

    3. Zaytoven vs. Metro Boomin would be more wntertaining considering the fact that they actually compose their music instead of paying others to compose for them

    4. Regardless of who wins this is a win win for hip hop. This is the competitive nature that has been missing. As long as it doesnt end with somebody getting shot competition is a good thing and pushes the creativity and skill of the music.

    5. Early innovative Timbaland: Unstoppable! Right up to them joints he dropped wit Nelly Furtado and JT (got em producer if the year), then something happened like most people his shit been pretty down hill since..like him and missy need to re connect and re ignite that left field style animal/baby/city/futuristic sound style that put him up in the first place..as for Swizzy I’m definitely a fan but his style is more suited to the Jay Z style rapper shit can be too intricate and confusing to connect to for the everyday person..hard to choose but as long as he leaves that Keri Hilson type shit at home I’m a ride wit Timbo on this one

    6. I’m sorry but there should a battle of 2 legends between dj premier and Pete rock real beat kings and they still make dope beats

    7. Timbo gon take it. He got more range and can go to more tempos. Swizz is a monster but timbo gon get em

    8. Early Timbo kills early Swizz (Swizz just produced a lot of garbage with 1 in every 7 songs being kind of dope – the early Ruff Ryder’s efforts / Jay z stuff was weak).

    9. How does this work? They make a bunch of instrumentals that haven’t been used in songs and play them live in front of an audience and the winner is picked by the audience approval? Probably doing more bass heavy crowd pleasing EDM type shit than they do in DMX/Missy Elliot songs? I think they are both overrated pop producers nowadays tbh, but what do I know? I was surprised to find out Timbaland produced the Pusha song “Untouchable”, that one was really dope, because nowadays I only hear him associated with pop r&b songs, like his days with rap have been over. Swizz has not been good to me in a really long time, maybe if he stayed off his beats and didn’t make basic ass hooks that make ALL his songs sound similar it would be a different story.

    10. Two washed up producers who peaked in the late 90s, early 2000s. I liked swizz beatz back in the day, but they are both trash now.

      1. lol…. Bait. Metrobooming is winning right now and his beats aren’t even the best of his genre. move along.

      2. Washed?! Aside from alot of the pop edm stuff he does now, Timbo did alot of Magna Carta. And more recently he also made hot fire with “Untouchable” for Pusha-T among others. Maybe you don’t know, which is a different story.

Washed? Id say thats a stretch. Don’t playa ya self, the man WORKS.
