The Weeknd & Bruno Mars Among Soul Train Awards Winners

With Dallas songstress Erykah Badu serving as host for the evening, the annual Soul Train Awards, which was previously recorded, aired yesterday (November 29).

After snatching up a handful of awards during the American Music Awards earlier this month, The Weeknd earned yet another set of awards for his work. During the Soul Train Awards, the crooner won for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist and Album of the Year.

Other artists who walked away with more than one award included Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. The pair won Video of the Year and Song of the Year for their “Uptown Funk” record.

The awards show welcomed a handful of highlights courtesy of host, Erykah Badu.

At one point during the broadcast, Badu took part in imaginary phone conversations with a handful of artists, including Iggy Azalea.

“No no no, you can come, ’cause what you’re doing is definitely not rap…In fact, I’mma send an Uber for you right now,” the singer said during her phone conversation with Azalea.

Badu also joked about her past relationships with rappers, and being banned from Hip Hop awards, during her intro.

    1. badu should of been saying that about fake drake’s bitch ass, fuck that bitch made pop singer…piece of fake shit.

    2. Iggy Azalea can’t come, but jidenna earns best new artist award?? Soul Train discriminates whites and Erykah Badu is just a hypocrite. I wonder how Mark Ronson got his head inside there…

      1. Yes, but she was being funny with it though. Cute, but let a white artist pull that fuckery and their whole career is done. BBlack privilege, being able to disrespect any race, on any platform and get away with it and if it happens to them they cry themselves to sleep, national news and jobs are lost.

    3. Erika is a bum. No music out, or at least nothing onvthe radar since “call tyrone” and has the nerve to criticise someone. she had a show in NEW YORK not to long ago and like 12 people showed up foh llong live Iggy the Queen of rap

      1. The fu k you been? Obviously not listening to anything other than the radio…fall back with that lame dickeating…erykah is more hip hop than the chick with the unoriginal name and southern accent

    4. This washed up nobody acting like she in charge of the music industry badu ! Always funny when a non voice for today’s music trying set the tone . I’m no fan of Iggy but dam that was low !

    5. glad ey3 didn’t watch…..THE WEEKEND album of the year???…..that’s crazy…LOL…the best song THE WEEKEND ever did was with DRAKE…CREW LOVE……
