The Top 10 Most Popular Hip Hop Singles The Week Of 10/29/2012

While Mother Nature took its toll on the Northeast this week (sending positive thoughts to those affected by Hurricane Sandy), a few moments in music happened to lift people’s spirits. We have the return of several tracks to the list, but artists kept churning out new material for the fans – even songs in gratitude. There’s a lot going on in the world right now, but here are some songs to keep you occupied. Check out the list below.

Kendrick Lamar Keeps Winning, Thanks His Fans In the Process

Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City is shaping up to be one of the top albums of 2012. Once his singles started pouring out of the project, it was only a matter of time before they’d be attacking our Top Singles List. They have and then some, as K-Dot’s been dominating our list for a while now. While he returns to the #5 spot this week with his Drake assisted “Poetic Justice” off his album, he once again claims the #1 spot as well. This time, though, it’s with the J. Cole-produced “The Jig Is Up” a thanks to fans for all of their support. With that level of gratitude, his fan base will be strong for a very long time.

Game Gives Us a Whole Other Celebration To Attend

While Game’s “Celebration” was awesome enough with Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Chris Brown, he flipped the script on us and brought the legendary Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on the remix. That reached the #2 spot this week. While A$AP Rocky got to show up twice for #3 and #4, Joell Ortiz decided to freestyle over the #4 track “Fuckin Problem” and entered the list at #9. Our guest editor Sean Price made it to the list as well with Pharoahe Monch on “BBQ Sauce” at #7, and another Sean closed out the list – Big Sean at #10 with “Guap.”
