The Game has appeared to side with Drake in his beef with Kendrick Lamar, but it has led to his loyalty to his hometown being called into question.
The Compton rapper took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 16) to share a video of him listening to Drizzy’s 2015 song “Energy,” which notably includes the lyrics: “I got enemies, got a lot of enemies” and “I got rap n-ggas that I gotta act like I like/ But my actin’ days are over, fuck them n-ggas for life.”

Quoting one of these lines, The Game captioned his post: “I got rap n-ggas that I gotta act like I like.”
Drake, who recently fired back at Kendrick’s “Like That” verse with the diss song “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50),” caught wind of the apparent display of support and liked the post.

Some of the Documentary rapper’s followers weren’t as enthusiastic, though, and accused him of betraying the West Coast by siding with K. Dot’s longtime foe.
“You going against Compton????” one person commented, while another said: “Man if you go against Compton I’m losing all respect.”

“Damn… this n-gga so mad at [Dr.] Dre he going against Compton for likes,” someone else joked, referencing The Game’s past issues with his former label boss.
The Game has yet to respond to the backlash.
The Compton native has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar in the past on songs such as “The City,” “On Me” and “See No Evil.” He also famously passed the torch to K. Dot during a 2011 show in L.A. show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger and Warren G.
However, The Game has also worked with Drake on the tracks “100” and “Good Girls Go Bad.” Some of his most recent Instagram posts also show love to the 6 God, including one that reads: “I call you my brother cause there’s never been a moment where you made me feel otherwise. @champagnepapi.”

Drizzy responded in the comments section: “Too much history.”
The Game previously weighed in on Drake and Kendrick’s long-simmering rivalry during an interview with HipHopDX in 2022.
Addressing the notion that the OVO Sound hitmaker took shots at K. Dot on “100,” he said: “I didn’t feel like that. And if I did, I wouldn’t have put the song out. Like I said, Kendrick’s my brother — I love him too. But if Drake was subliminal and slipped something in, again, he’s one of the best to ever do it, so it’s Hip Hop.
“Even Kendrick is lyrically equipped to catch any stray and return fire, so I think at the end of the day, it’s all good Hip Hop. It ain’t like Kendrick and Drake are about to go into a street war or something like that.”

When asked who would win in a rap battle, he replied: “Who I got? Lyrically? I don’t know, man. Kendrick is just too fucking incredible. And then Drake is so dope too, man. I mean, I would just like to be a fan of the moment and sit back and watch two of the greatest artists of all time have a go.”
