The Alchemist has revealed the cover art and tracklist for his upcoming album Russian Roulette, releasing July 17th via Decon Records.
For the project, Al reaches out to Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Evidence, Danny Brown, ScHoolboy Q and Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire for guest features. According to Decon, the producer/rapper “creates a cinematic musical experience interwoven through a continuous soundscape demonstrating the vast array of his musical palette.”

This was boring as fuck. Bland production throughout the album, topped with bland and monotone rhymes from some alright rappers. This concept is pretty good, I like the whole Russia-nuclear theme, but the execution is definitely lacking..Not Alchemist’s best work.
True meaning of a conceptual album, nuff said. Not when an artist insists theyre making a ‘conceptual’ album, when its just same ol beats and rhymes. This is something different from the norm by hiphop standards, but just shows Alchemists diversity. To me this is real mood music, something to listen to through your headphones on a long journey. On repeat. Til ur well and truly zoned out lol, i guess thats the whole idea. Appreciate good music!
