Tekashi 6ix9ine Puts Billboard On Notice: ‘The World Is Watching’

Tekashi, Tekashi, Tekashi — that’s the only name that seems to be popping up since the controversial rap figure made his return on Friday (May 8) with his new single and music video for “GOOBA.” The 24-year-old Brooklyn native knows it too.

“GOOBA” broke a YouTube record for most streams within a 24-hour period and his Instagram Live session reeled in a record-breaking 1.9 million viewers. With all eyes on him, 6ix9ine took it upon himself to call out Billboard and let them know he’s watching.

“@billboard We’re watching this very closely,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “The world is watching very closely, we love you and always supported the charting. On every platform we are dominating by a LANDSLIDE. The numbers are there and to be looked at. WITH NO RADIO WE ARE DOMINATING THE STREAMS.

“I will hate to believe that people pay for their spins on the radio and making manipulating bundles to manipulate the chart. Again it’s still early Im just making it clear that the world is watching.”

Bundles have caused issues in the past. Nicki Minaj went nuclear on Travis Scott after her 2018 album Queen debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and Scott’s Astroworld landed at No. 1.

During a 2018 episode of Queen Radio, she dubbed Scott the “Hoe nigga of the week” and insisted Queen was the No. 1 album — despite what Billboard reported.

“What we’re not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling fucking sweaters telling you he sold half a million albums, because he fucking didn’t,” she said. “You stupid fuck. You got your fucking homeboy talking for you and you got your girlfriend selling tour passes. Stop it. Knock it the fuck off.”

Nicki Minaj Calls Travis Scott "Stupid Fuck" On Top Of His "Hoe Nigga of The Week" Award

She cited the bundles Scott was selling — which included a meet-and-greet with Scott’s former girlfriend Kylie Jenner and their daughter Stormi — as the primary reason Astroworld took the coveted spot.

“When [Travis] comes along and sells a tour pass that has nothing to do with his fucking music and says he’s sold more than Kanye West and Nas — no you fucking didn’t, keep it the fuck real,” she added. “I know I’m that bitch, I know I’m Number 1.”

Time will tell whether Tekashi will chart at the No. 1 spot on Billboard.

    1. He may not be paying radio for spins but he’s definitely paying sites like this to mention his name 3 times in the introduction paragraph. And post 3 articles a day about him. Once again NO classic songs. NO classic albums. And NO bars. Get this clown outta here

      1. What exactly constitutes as a classic? Record sales? Platinum plaques? Critical success? I mean, I grew up with the chronic 2001, Marshal Mathers LP, All eyes on Me, and many others. Those are all classics to me, but they were also aimed at my generation. 69’s music is not for me, and it’s definitely not in my generation of music. But for me to call it a classic or not a classic is not up to me because this next generation of kids is going to get older and then review and rereview albums from before. This album could get the MMLP and get a classic status a few years from now. It’s really not up to us to label albums from only a few years classics or not. They are not aimed at us, and we’re definitely not it’s audience. The pedo is doing numbers and his dummy boy album is platinum.

    2. How much is the label paying y’all to spread this poison – definitely not for the culture and realistically setting mankind backwards fr

    3. The only reason his name is popping up is because sites like this think it’s ok to support a fraud and a snitch.

      1. At what level of snitching is a site supposed to stop support at? Dry snitching like some of these artist do in their songs? Putting out someone’s business like Pusha did with Drake? Snitching and pointing fingers like meek did when he told Sean Kingston that Game and his crew took his chain? Filing police reports like Snoop and 50? Or cooperating with the feds like tekashi?

At the end of the day, it’s all snitching. But at what level of snitching is should the support stopped?

    4. His hype will eventually die.. ppl are curious but give it time. Its a reality show and eventually everyone will have seen enough and move on 2 the nxt show

    5. This dipshit dont think the world already knows radio billboard and all the award show shit is bought and paid advertisement time? I have never in my life heard ANYBODY brag about who they liking and where their ranking on the billboard charts most irrelevant shit ever and fuck this rainbow hair chomo hope a blood puts a hole in his head and fucks it like this guy does lil girls

    6. No one posting would do the amount of time he was about to get …. stop portraying yourselves as these tough keyboard warriors that live by a code lmao you all clowns …. these weren’t his friends … they were people that used him

      1. Stop defending hoe shit! Despite all of what you’re talking, he put a hit on somebody, are you serious? That’s conspiracy to commit murder, that word “conspiracy” would give you 100 years! Foh with that bullshit, he knew what he was getting into. All this “he’s just a kid” bullshit, he’s a grown fucking man! Claiming a set knowing he pussy, then coming to other sets saying “Suck my dick it’s trey way” that’s some bitch shit. But y’all some bitch ass muthafuckas so I expect y’all to take his side. You a bitch

        1. If you are willing to spend half of your life behind bars being butt loved for people that don’t give a fluck about you or wouldn’t do the same for you …. you are an idiot … and a loser … have pride thinking being a weak ass street fluck is worth wasting your life being …. why any culture would trumpet the worst of their society is beyond me … makes good music like mob movies make for good entertainment

      2. Because most of us who live in the real world understand that there are consequences to this street shit. This fucking clown wanted to be all about that gangsta shit, then he got popped and started singing like a canary. Shouldn’t have fucked around in the first place. You about that life or not? Apparently not, so Tekashi is actually the fake gangsta here.

    7. The only thing worse than this clown are the so called journalists giving him the limelight that he wants. Like it or not, you’re contributing to his success.

      1. Na fam whats worst is people actually give this fool attention people support this fool thats whats wrong hes cappin at the billboard like his track was even good foh

        1. Aye man, you dissed me but I still got love for you. Tekashi is the movement. I’ll leave the light on for you for the time the takeover’s done and you change your mind.

    8. Ya’ll want this bozo to go away? Stop clicking on his articles and stop leaving comments. Don’t listen to his music or watch his videos. That’s what I do, he doesn’t even exist in my world. Simple.

    9. 69 Buys His Views SMH. Always has. N has been working for feds way before the famous court case. Crying about fake numbers SMH. And who is “we” he talks of. Him and police I guess.
