As Tekashi 6ix9ine’s federal racketeering case inches closer to the September 9 trial date, new documents suggest the incarcerated rapper may have offered someone $50,000 to have his alleged kidnapper murdered.
According to documents obtained by XXL, U.S. Attorney General Geoffrey Berman explained 6ix9ine — who is referred to as “CW-2” or cooperating witness 2 in the paperwork — is expected to testify about the July 22, 2018 robbery of a Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods member.
6ix9ine, a known Nine Trey associate, was robbed and kidnapped after a video shoot that same day.
Nine Trey member Anthony “Harv” Ellison and another unidentified Nine Trey member are listed in the documents as the two men who robbed and kidnapped 6ix9ine. They also state 6ix9ine told his former manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan he’d deliver $50,000 to anyone who could kill Ellison.
“During that recorded conversation, which happened on or about July 26, 2018, Jordan told CW-2, in sum and substance, by allowing himself to get robbed by Ellison, CW-2 made them look weak and that CW-2 had put Jordan in the position of having to murder in retaliation for the robbery of CW-2,” reads one part of the document. “Moreover, CW-2 will testify about a conversation that CW-2 had with Jordan after the July 22, 2018 robbery, in which CW-2 told Jordan that CW-2 would pay $50,000 to any who murdered Ellison.”
The polarizing, rainbow color-haired artist is also expected to testify about a conversation he had with Jordan and co-defendant Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones after the robbery “that took place as Jordan and Jones brought an assault rifle to CW-2’s house for protection after the robbery.”
In addition, Page Six reports prosecutors are planning to use several of 6ix9ine’s music videos to aid their argument.
“The Government expects to offer at trial at least four rap videos, which are publicly available, and that provide context to certain disputes between Nine Trey and rival gang members,” prosecutors wrote in the court docs. “The Government also expects to elicit testimony from cooperating witnesses about these rap videos.”
Aljeremiah “Nuke” Mack is reportedly the second man accused of kidnapping and robbing 6ix9ine alongside Ellison. Together, they allegedly stole $750,000 worth of jewelry and $20,000 in cash.
The filing doesn’t single out any particular videos but does state prosecutors intend to use videos featuring “appearances by members of Nine Trey, including Ellison, and lyrics that pertain to certain disputes between CW-2 and rival rappers.”
