Reason is gearing up to release his new album Porches, and he’s called upon Doechii, Baby Tate and more for assistance.
Porches will serve as the TDE rapper’s sophomore effort and his first full-length project in nearly three years. Set to arrive August 11, the 17-track album also features SiR, Zacari, Ray Vaughn, August Alsina and KalanFRFR with production from Boi-1da, Vinylz and more.

“If you love story telling you’ll love this album!” Reason wrote in a tweet about the project on Tuesday (August 1). “If you love intentional albums you’ll love this album! If you love high musicality you will love this album! This is not a playlist, I wish I could give the album to y’all today [crying emojis] PORCHES 8.11.23.”

Late last year following dismal sales of fellow Cali rapper Saweetie’s then-mixtape The Single Life, Reason spoke out about the lack of artist development plaguing the music industry these days and even offered his solution.
“The Saweetie album sales is funny etc but it’s also (in my humble opinion) a representation in the lack of artist development,” Reason wrote. “Saweetie is a star, she’s proven that! But you still have to develop artist and help them make better records. I’d love to write with Saweetie.
“And no this ain’t no pick me shit this is from one artist to another, I personally believe we should bring back artist development and not just worry about social media. My 2 cents!”
Reason was one of a handful of notable names in music who spoke out regarding The Single Life‘s sales. Producer Hitmaka placed the blame on Saweetie’s A&R, while Sonny Digital couldn’t figure out how the ICY GRL’s millions of followers didn’t equate to at least a few more sales.
