Reality television fans were shocked after Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition star Vado violently attacked his co-star Tahiry Jose in a now-viral clip.
Well aware the video is everywhere, the former Love & Hip Hop: New York personality decided to address the incident via Instagram on Wednesday (July 29), assuring people the attack was not staged. Rather, what she says was a very real moment was emotionally damaging to her.
“First let me say that I’m devastated that this will be shown for the world to see, but I fully understand that I have chosen to live my life (good… bad… and ugly) in front of the camera,” she wrote. “Let me be CLEAR for all the people that are saying that this was ‘scripted’ it is NOT! As a woman that has already suffered physical abuse at the hands of a man why would I ever want to relive that? There is no check big enough for me to EVER play like that!”
Tahiry ended her statement by expressing gratitude to those who have been there for her: “I appreciate the love & support that I’ve been receiving since this clip was released online. I ask for just a moment of privacy as I figure out the best way to address this publicly in full detail.”
Psychiatrist Dr. Ish Major, who originally shared the clip on his Twitter page, vowed to “make it right” for Tahiry.
“This is not ok y’all!” he wrote alongside the preview. “Never. Ever. I couldn’t believe it happened. Everybody froze.”
Additional cast members on the current season of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition include Kurupt and model Toni Calvert, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood‘s Hazel E. and male model De’Von Waller, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks and Medina Islam and more.
The next episode airs on Thursday night (July 30) at 6 p.m. PST on WE tv.
Domestic violence is never ok, but the way they’re using this scene to promote the episode is too obvious that the network is using this for ratings. If they were really sincere, people would’ve found out just by watching the episode. What’s funny is that during filming months ago, articles mentioned that Kurupt had an alcohol problem and that he had to go to the hospital, but no mention of this so called abuse incident. This is obviously a publicity stunt that was staged to make people watch this reality BS because TV ratings are steady on the decline and they are desperate for viewers. People obviously aren’t watching this mess and majority of the couples I can guarantee aren’t even married. SMH.
Right. DV is not ok in any form but come on!! This is a violent eruption? pleaseeeeee
I mean to non savages it is a violent eruption…I would never do that shit, especially in front of an audience. I think that’s a big problem we got in the world…violence is so normalized to people that this is considered a minor thing to some. If he can’t control himself in front of that type of audience, then what’s he capable of without one? I don’t watch the show but I see a lot of comments about her throwing apples or some shit…well he’s a sucker for being with a bitch that’s comfortable throwing apples off his head, kick that bitch to the curb without kicking her man
Tahiry need to take her ass off of TV. How dumb can a broad be to think anything good will come from reality tv.
I ain’t one for touching no woman, and I’m not even sure if this show/relationship real like that. But her throwing them damn apples off the side of his face sounded real as shit to me. She always been extra, niggas gotta learn how to beat and move on….
this bish was throwing apples and hit him in the face before this and has been abusing him through out the show. Violence shouldnt be the answer but where is the accountability on her end, FOH!
Beat that Bitch
BEAT U B33TCH!!DF?
He’s a Bitch doing what a Bitch does. Real men walk away and move on. He was handling her as if she was a man. Now he look like he on the DL to me. A woman hater. Haven’t snatched up no man. The reality is some men want to be a woman.
Maybe he didn’t snatch up a man because a man didn’t HIT HIM IN THE FACE WITH AN APPLE! Your comment is EXACTLY why women feel so empowered to assault men in the first place. This double standard has to stop. Vado was wrong but that doesn’t make her right. From a legal standpoint she assaulted that man as well. The reality is some women want to be men…when its convenient. Then they play the woman/victim card instead of being responsible for their actions.
I am a WOMAN and agree with you 100 percent Danny Glover, Vado is not the only one wrong in this situation!!
It is NOT o.k for a woman to abuse a man but somehow it’s accepted more in society. Everyone has the right to feel safe in their relationship!!! Tahiry AND Vado are both wrong and may need a break from each other.
Scripted
this probably why she was throwing them apples….but while in a safe environment rt
He omost kilt her, mane!
your whack if you hit a woman. straight pussy.
