T.I. Details The Power Of Unity In The Black Community

According to Atlanta rapper T.I., unity is crucial in battling injustice.

While appearing on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning this week, Southern wordsmith T.I. explained that when you have a group of people who are unified, it’s much harder to treat them unjustly or to treat them unjustly and not face any consequences.

T.I. also shared his belief that the black community is the only community where “it’s alright just to mistreat us,” and no one is held accountable.

“Whenever you have a race of people…that stick together no matter what,” T.I. said. “Through thick and thin. Then it’s much more difficult to do these people unjust. If there’s a separation or disparity between this group of people then it’s much easier to pick them apart when they’re separated. Whether that’s from a financial perspective. Whether that’s from a police brutality perspective. It’s easier to do them wrong or to not consider them or take advantage of them. Or not take them seriously, if they’re separated…We are the only ones that it’s alright just to mistreat us and have no consideration or accountability for it. No consequences. No repercussions. No nothing.”

T.I. later spoke on the initiative to support local, black-owned banks. According to T.I., who recently helped Young Thug and Young Dolph open accounts at Citizens Trust Bank, by banking black, money stays in the community.

“We banking black,” he said. “Banking small. Banking local. And the purpose of that is if we move our power, which is our finances over into the hands of people who are willing to partner with us. And who are willing to give small business loans to black people. Who are willing to give 80 to 150,000 dollar loans for homes to black people then that allows us to build our communities.”

Video of T.I. speaking on the importance of unity in the black community, can be found below.

    1. Black banking? What kind of racist bullshit is that? I would rather keep my money in a bank that had been around for over 100 years, thanks.

      1. You realize that your 100+ year old bank is just as trustworthy if not slightly worse than a bank that’s only been around for a 5+ years. Most of the major well known banks are constantly under investigation for money issues, so wherever you put your money you should be on your toes about what the bank is doing.

    2. Banks are still run by the FDIC no matter if its black, white, latino or asian owned. If banks gave loans to everybody then they would close. White people cant even get loans lol i wanted to start a small business and had some money in the bank to help start it and still couldnt get one even when a plan was in place. Economy sucks right now smh we are heading into another recession again

    3. ANOTHER black hypocrite talking about “black” unity. How can you talk about unity when you just opened up a Strip club in Atlanta, destroying black women lives one at a time? How about empowering black women instead of making them slaves? I bet his mother was a stripper. These days black people sound worse than the White Power KKK, its all about black power. People are starting to wake up to the black racists.

      1. I know plenty of strippers that love what they do and feel empowered. Do not group peeps like that

    4. As far as pulling together as people, we all need to! No matter what race, color, ethnicity. Whatever the cracks, Obama is turning them into divides and separation. Obama encouraged people to riot, but do it peacefully. WTH? United we stand, Divided we fall. Pull together to fight tyranny!

    5. Black Banking .That is a great concept TIP and affiliates have, Its not racist. Here is a thing.. Blacks are in a disadvantage economically, so if they bank locally they’ll be build the economy, they’re circulating the money 50X before it goes out of the community. Please educate yourself, not everything is between the lines of RACISM. That is based on looking 4 each other, grooming each other, responsible 4 their own & NOT POINT FINGERS TO WHY THEY’RE HUNGRY.

    6. Ti… shut da fuck up and go make some more garbage ass albums. u fake ass dude … u aint nothing but a bitch.
