This alliance was first envisioned by Babygrande Records founder and CEO, Chuck Wilson, whose relationship with the beatmaker traces back two decades, when the entrepreneur first signed Jedi Mind Tricks. They went on to work together on albums like Violent by Design and Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell that are now considered underground classics.

Beyond JMT, Stoupe has also worked with key figures in Hip Hop such as M.O.P., Sean Price, GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Canibus and many more.

“Stoupe reached out last year and we were already in the process of creating a pathway for him to come home to Babygrande. I owe a lot of my early success to Stoupe,” Wilson explained. “The opportunity to work with him again to fortify his legacy as a producer and as a foundational Babygrande artist was something I could not refuse. He has an incredible catalog of unreleased tracks and projects recorded and the music is just gorgeous.”

“I was in the studio one day listening to his tracks and in my head, I could hear Cook’s voice over the tracks. That was a very special moment but even more special was when I sent the music to Cooks and he loved it. They now have around twenty-five tracks recorded and the chemistry is divine.”

As of now, it isn’t clear if Stove God Cooks and Stoupe plan on releasing the music they recorded as part of an album, though the New York rapper definitely has big plans for the near future.

It has been nearly four years since his last album, Reasonable Drought with Roc Marciano in 2020. Since then, Stove God has been plotting his next move and it seems like something massive is right around the corner.

“2024 is going to be a big one,” he told iHeartRadio earlier this month. “It’s just going to keep getting bigger. 2024 is going to be an amazing one for me, for my fans, for everybody that’ve been fucking with me since the Drought and all the Griselda shit. It’s time for me to give them what they’ve been waiting for.”

The last two years have exhibited an exponential growth in Stove’s profile, with extraordinary performances on tracks like Westside Gunn’s “Kitchen Lights” and Benny the Butcher’s “One Foot In,” which is just a preview of what fans can look forward to.
