Soulja Boy and fellow rapper Trouble exchanged a few words on Twitter in the wake of Young Dolph’s November 17 murder. Trouble appeared bothered by the timing of Soulja Boy’s latest single “Stretch Some,” which arrived ahead of the Big Draco 2 album.
On Thursday morning (November 18), Trouble fired off a tweet that read, “I like da lil silly shit soulja Be doin time to time, its entertainment, I get it. Dont Be no puss azz n-gga an drop no song kalled ‘stretch sump’ da next dayy as if u got active in my dawg losin his life dou! ? Das ho shit luh Bruh @souljaboy an u kno wuzzam wit me.”
But according to Soulja Boy, “Stretch Some” has been available for at least a month. He explained in two since-deleted tweets, “That song been out but what u wanna do n-gga? U sound touch as hell on the internet fuck u talking about n-gga .. Police ass n-gga @TroubleDTE.”
He then issued an ominous warning to the Atlanta-bred rapper that read, “Bitch ass boy you could be next @TroubleDTE.”
But Soulja Boy wasn’t done there. He also hopped in The Shade Room‘s comment section to set the record straight with, “That song been out for months it just hit stores. N-ggaz need to mind they business.”
Soulja Boy and Young Dolph threw a few social media jabs at each other just one week before the fatal Memphis shooting. On November 10, the Paper Route Empire CEO claimed he made over $100,000 per show as an independent rapper and Soulja Boy quickly tried to pull his card, suggesting he and Key Glock weren’t really independent.
“That’s big cap,” he said. “They signed to @empire I’m really 100% Independent no cap.”

The following day, Key Glock fired back in an Instagram Live video, catching the attention of Soulja Boy who responded in another Instagram video.
“Man, Young Dolph, if you don’t get your bitch ass artist out my muthafucking DM n-gga,” he said. “Fuck you talking about n-gga? N-gga thought he was bulletproof until he got shot like Dolph n-gga. Ain’t you the n-gga that got shot at 100 times that got popped and shot at all the time n-gga.”
Six days later, Young Dolph was fatally shot as he was picking up cookies for his mother at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies, a local favorite. He was 36.
