Social Media Reacts After Teyana Taylor’s Album Listening Party Lacks Social Distancing

Teyana Taylor became arguably the first artist to hold a major listening session during the pandemic — and social media has some feelings about it.

Taylor celebrated her forthcoming third studio effort The Album on Wednesday night (June 17) at a house in Beverly Hills, ahead of the project’s official release on Friday (June 19). Per the invite previewed on TMZ, both masks and hazmat suits were provided to guests – which included the likes of Cardi B with Offset and Kulture, Takeoff, Trey Songz, Karrueche Tran, Odell Beckham, Kyle Kuzma, Lena Waithe, Terrence J and more.

Despite the precautions, photos from the event showed most attendees with their masks partially off or not on at all. In addition, most guests were crowded together in a tight space surrounding Taylor and her famous friends with significantly less than six feet of distance from one another.

As states ease up on Stay-At-Home restrictions, significant COVID-19 spikes have been reported around the country – serving as a stark reminder the virus is far from over. And with the event happening just days after Taylor and husband Iman Shumpert announced they’re expecting their second child, fans were even more concerned.

“Did they test everyone for covid at the door?” podcast host King Crissle wrote on Twitter. “Cuz… imma just pray teyana stays healthy.”

“No masks…No social distancing…A pregnant Teyana Taylor…Kids…A pandemic…What could go wrong?” another wrote.

Taylor has yet to respond to the criticisms. Check out more reactions to The Album listening party below.

    1. God dam, this virus don’t care if you rich or famous, white or black. They must all be Trump supporters? Where’s Ye?

    2. That’s her decision. Who gives a fuck? Nobody forced these people to gather. The only sad part is the stripper who r3 bringing her child. Other than that….oh well.

    3. Y’all complain about this yet say nothing about the protests which has hundreds of thousands marching shoulder to shoulder.

    4. Their more likely to have been tested than you. Half of you’ll complaining probably been partying and have travel plans. Was the person you puff and passed to tested? This was a business move for her career. Did you go back to work when they called you? I’m tired of people complaining about what others do during corona. It’s the same corona when you’re doing what you want to do. Worry about why you have to risk your lives going back to work without a cure while they’re making it rain for the rich with your tax dollars. This one time we’re all the same. We’re all slaves to the government spending our money, dictating to us, letting us die so they can get the rest while leaving us hungry, homeless and penniless. When we didn’t move neither did the economy. Worry about making them give us our money instead of her party
