Social Media Isn’t Rocking With Uncle Luke For Going In On DJ Khaled

Uncle Luke is catching some heat on social media for lashing out at DJ Khaled in a recent rant shared to his Instagram account. The main point of contention in Luke’s tirade is that Khaled is not originally from Miami — the city he reps — but moved there from New Orleans.

“My brother, this guy don’t run shit down here,” the 2 Live Crew rapper said. “He just scream ‘Miami’ out. He should be screaming ‘New Orleans.’ He just a settler.

“You need to be screaming out ‘Uncle Al,’ you need to be screaming out ‘Soul Survivor DJs,’ but that’s something you don’t know nothing about bruh because you a settler and you settled on Miami Beach,” he added.

Of course, Khaled has been active in Miami since at least 1998, around the time he started working at WEDR radio station where he co-hosted The Luke Show with Uncle Luke. It seems that bad blood has emerged between the two men since then.

Unfortunately for Luke, social media wasn’t really there for his Khaled-bashing. Check out the tweets below and Luke’s rant above.

Luke’s comments were sparked by remarks from Real Housewives of Atlanta star Peter Thomas who said the “All I Do Is Win” producer “runs Miami.”

    1. Luke don’t run shit either, he hasn’t ran that city since the early 2000s. He needs to focus on finding better artist to represent Miami instead of this new flock of shit rappers like Lil Pump and SmokePurp and XXXTentacion.

      1. Nothing could be further from the truth. Luke is highly respected in that city on all levels.

    2. Crazy as it may sound to the younger generation, but Luke is spot on. LUKE/2 Live Crew are the reason for parental advisory stickers on CDs. Luke is the original independent rap label owner/mogul. These are facts. AND fought for hip hop/freedom of speech, all the way to the Supreme Court, and WON. Never was a fan of his music, but Luke is to Miami what Snoop is to Long Beach. Luke was damn near the first and successful at all he has accomplished. These are facts. And he’s 100% correct about Khaled. It’s not a dis, he speaks the truth.

    3. I’ve met/ know dozens of people who “settled” here in Chicago. Every one of them brings up their hometown in discussion and represent it all the time. Wisconsin, Cali, Minnesota, Left coast etc. Never knew Khalid wasn’t from MIA. I could see myself getting annoyed with some settler clown shouting out CHI TOWN and wearing Cubs shit everyday lol

    4. F*ck DJ Kow-fed and his bullsh*t fat ego! UNCLE LUKE is the SuperMega OG and Mayor of Miami! 2 LIVE CREW put THE whole muthaf*ckin’ SOUTH on the map, decades before this mumble stumble fumble crumple crap! Salute The BOSS & dump that overrated overweight over egoed Kow-fed BS!

    5. Blacks are the most bitter people on earth. 1st they claim hes a culture vulture bc hes an arab, now they claim hes not from Miami even though he lives there for 20 years now. Just arguing about what city you “represent” is that ignorant hood shit im talking about. Nelly is from Texas but nobody in St.louis gives a fuck. Dj Khaled is bigger right now than Luke ever was. Keep talking black people, ur racism is showing

      1. Blacks don’t have nth to do with it u fucking dumb ass. Ur racism showed as soon as u started typing bitch.

    6. If you’ve ever actually been to Miami, you’d know that this would never be true. This is pretty silly shit that is probably rooted in some other personal shit between the 2, but don’t get it twisted. Luke is the man in Miami from the hood to South Beach up to Ft. Lauderdale because he was the rapper that put them on the map. It’s like the Heat will never be bigger than the Dolphins despite one being a top end organization the last 20 years and the other having 2 playoff appearances or some shit in the same time period because it’s a football town. If you’ve been tehre, you know what I’m talking about.
