Snoop Dogg, Saweetie & Tyga Fuse Cali Hip Hop Into TikTok’s Black History Month Celebration

Before Black History Month wrapped up, TikTok celebrated BHM last Thursday (February 25) with a blend of California Hip Hop featuring special guest appearances from rap deity Snoop Dogg, Saweetie and Tyga.

Hosts for the night included media mogul Karen Civil and popular TikTok user Challan. Snoop, the “ICY GRL” rapper and Tyga each graced the event stage individually for a brief interview and performed a couple of the standout hits from their respective discographies.

After running through 2011’s “Rack City” anthem and the Offset-assisted “Taste,” T-Raww reflected on TikTok’s appeal to him connecting to his fans as an artist. He’s also been an early co-signer in the lucrative OnlyFans space.

“It’s not a place where you have to promote anything or have to do anything, there’s no obligation,” Tyga said. “You can just be funny, you can dance, whatever you feel like you want to express.”

Snoop is one of the rare rappers that can be picked out in a crowd by grandmothers and Generation Z at the same time. He’s proven to be a chameleon in the entertainment space as someone of many talents that isn’t afraid to tap into what’s next or what feels natural to him.

The West Coast legend pointed to social media’s ability to connect fans and artists as one in a seamless manner as the main difference between what rappers are going through now compared to when he entered the game in the 1990s.

    1. Truley Amazing. “West coast represent”. Thats what we shout at our local college campus in Portland. All we are missing from this all start line up is K. Lamar. Aka the Martin Luther of Hip Hop. Truley inspiring. My friends and I denounced our whiteness at college recently. We did a ceremony where is kissed the shoes of our African friends and begged for forgiveness. I have never felt so woke.

Next week end we are marching with the teachers union downtown. We will be brining mutliple issues up. We will be fighting for reforms to the education system to accomidate LGBTQI+. No longer will there be pronounce for his/her. All kids must be tought from a young age to wear both sexes clothes and find comfort in what ever they want to be.

For instance my childs name is Radiant Sunflower. He was born male but through allowing him to play with dolls and wearing womans outfits he identifies as a girl.
