The Los Angeles Lakers are back on top. The Lake Show captured their 17th world championship on the back of LeBron James Sunday night (October 11) after a blowout win to defeat the Miami Heat in game 6 by a score of 106-93.
With Hip Hop being filled with Laker faithful, a bunch of artists didn’t waste any time in celebrating L.A.’s first title since the late Kobe Bryant brought home his fifth in 2010.
Diehard Laker fan Snoop Dogg already had some words for the haters at the end of the third quarter, when he took to Instagram to call out Clipper fans, Heat fans and those that bet big cash against him.
“It’s Laker gang, punk! Everybody that owe money, get your bags up, n*gga,” he proclaimed with a headset on. “I need my money, n*gga. Punk, fuck y’all! Laker gang, n*gga. Purple and gold. This for Kobe and Gigi [Bryant].”
“The never ending dynasty. Champs again,” Ice Cube added.
Longtime Laker fan Lil Wayne saluted Laker legend Kobe Bryant after his squad secured the title, playing inspired by the tragic loss all season.
Trippie Redd looked to be doing some sort of yoga pose on top of a chair before jumping down in his LeBron James jersey to shout-out his fellow Ohio native for a job well done.
James finished with another triple-double (28 points, 14 rebounds & 10 assists) to close out the series and take home his fourth NBA Finals MVP trophy, while Anthony Davis poured in 19 points to finish off the Heat. The Lakers’ 17th championship matches them with the Boston Celtics for the most all-time.
Check out some more of the reactions from Laker nation below.
Im not a sports fan, but I never understood the point of people being fans of a team that isnt their hometown or their current home. It just makes no sense if you aint from there and never been there in your life. Whats your connection ? Colors ? A mascot ? I dont get it. Arent rappers and hip hop fans known for reppin their city ?
Respect for clear skill and a legacy. Its why its easy for fans of combat sports to root for people not from their own country.
You make a valid point. But on the other hand, in combat sports, an individual wins the prize, not a team. Lebron team hops like a mothefucker. So the “legacy” belongs to him, not the team or the city. So it is a bit different.
The connection could be anything man. It’s all based on entertainment afterall. It all depends on the desire being fulfilled. Some are drawn to success, others by the personality of certain players, culture of the club, and so on. It is just a way of fulfilling desires, albeit vicariously. I’m from Nigeria, and i support a football team all the way up in England. Believe me when i say i am fully invested in the club, it sometimes could be the difference between having a good or bad day. Dunno if this is a good analogy, but i feel it’s the same as a “Gentile” willing to die for Jesus. You need to be one to understand. Cheers man
maybe their from your home town, went to your school, friend, family member, childhood memory, respect of craft, skillset…. who cares everyone has a hobby or vice its bread n circus studies show it makes a entire area feel better and of course its profitable when you bring thousands together for commerce
Bro my household was a lakers household and I’m from and live in NY and I’m named after a laker. U can rep whatever team u want what rule states just cause your from NY u gotta be Knicks fan or a nets fan
Trippie Redd looking gay af in everything he does..wtf..stop posting anything about him please.

You must be one of his gay groupies lol. Sorry but what I’m saying is the truth,he’s gay af…that pose is gay..he dresses like an emo chick…his latest album cover was gay and his music is gay. Everything about this guy screams gayness.
Ok, I’ll take it back… rather hear about him than SnitchNine ever again lol
Are teams considered a dynasty for winning one championship? Boy, our standards are so low these days.
Meaning under China James guidance, not the history of the Lakers***^
A lot of people saw this coming with Kobe “passing away” and the symbolic “passing the throne”. It’s all one big production and sham. The sports era spell of idolizing these clowns has been broken just like the spell of celebrity worship. They’re all demonic underneath or demon afflicted. Move on.
You about the dumbest ass… the fuck is you talking bout?
