Skylar Grey Announces Debut “Invinsible,” Due Fall 2011

Following her breakout appearances singing hooks on Dr. Dre’s “I Need a Doctor” and Lupe Fiasco’s “Words I Never Said,” Skylar Grey is prepping the release of her debut Invinsible, dropping in fall 2011.

The album, releasing via Alex Da Kid’s KIDinaKORNER and Interscope Records, has already spawned the dark single “Dance Without You,” currently available as a free download for 48 hours on her website.

“I have been working so hard with Alex on this music; I’m excited it’s finally going to be out there for everyone to hear.  I won’t have to describe it anymore, because the music can finally speak for itself,” says Grey in a statement. “Also, I’m very influenced by film and it is my hope that when people listen to my music, they are consumed with vast, cinematic imagery.”

The LP will be entirely produced by Alex Da Kid, who helmed B.o.B’s “Airplanes” and Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie.” Songs to be included on the album are “Weirdo,” “Building a Monster” and “Final Warning.”

Grey will give her first solo performance in August at Lollapalooza, while more dates will be announced in the upcoming months.

      1. Agreed. I love her voice and i’m curious to see how she does on a full album as Skylar Grey. I will be getting this.

    1. Listen, there will be a thousand websites pluggin’ her shit that would never plug no real Hip-Hop shit. So can we keep this site strictly Hip-Hop? It’s leanin’ more and more towards the pop world every day.

      1. ^^^right, what he said. Also, U do know she went by her name holly brook and did songs with mike shinoda on the fort minor album, and did songs w/ apathy of the demigodz/Army of the pharoahs right? Just sayin, cant get more hip hop than apathy.

      1. lol u cant be serious. I swear music fans (especially the ones who acts like purists) just cant be happy for talented singers & rappers to get recognized by the masses, as soon as the artist is no longer underground, gets shine and becomes a huge success in the mainstream, the artists are then labeled sellouts smh

    2. Dug her since I heard her on the Fort Minor track. Lol funny how when artists start creating buzz people say “fuckin sellout” solely based on the fact that you can’t be their ‘only fan’ now. Dig Nikki Jean too.
