Russ has once again reminded his critics that he was the first rapper to perform at the pyramids; not Travis Scott, and recently accosted XXL for also having to remind the publication.

The Zoo rapper took to Twitter on Wednesday (June 12) to re-share a corrected article that XXL had penned, in which it shared viral footage from Russ’s performance at Egypt’s Pyramids back in 2022.

However, he said he had to remind XXL that his fans never forgot who did it first and said he even wrote to the publication to correct it after writers allegedly claimed Travis Scott’s upcoming Utopia show at the Pyramids would be the first time a rapper had achieved such a feat.

“Nah I didn’t remind fans, mine knew,” Russ wrote. “A rap media page (most likely run by a white kid who says the n word who swears he’s misunderstood and just needs to rage) said that he was the first to perform at the pyramids..I reminded that page Thanks for the skewed narrative and excellent journalism per usual tho XXL.”

Russ had previously accused Travis Scott of copying him after the latter announced that Utopia would be debuted during a concert at the ancient Egyptian pyramids on July 28.

“Utopia is wherever you are,” a poster for the event, which will be live streamed for fans at home, read on the rapper’s Instagram page.

“Trendsetter…pyramids, $12 vinyl..we see it [wine glasses toasting emoji],” Russ wrote.

Plenty of fans were on Russ’ side, with one saying: “nah bc I really said russ did it FIRST,” while another added: “i peeped! you fs the first person i heard of performing there.”
