Earlier this week, fans of the Brooklyn rapper took to social media to voice their concern over her appearance and demeanor in a clip doing the rounds of her sitting in a barbershop.
In a message on Wednesday (March 15), Young M.A revealed she was recently treated in hospital for a number of conditions and is currently recovering.
“As many of my supporters know I’ve been dealing with various personal health issues the last few years,” she wrote on Instagram. “I recently was hospitalized and was successfully treated for several conditions. I’m doing better now, will take some time but I’m on the road to recovery and look forward to the future.”
She added: “I’m in good spirits and everything will be explained in the MUSIC! Plus documentary.. Love y’all MAB! Don’t worry I’m good! Bless up.”
Following her statement, a number of her peers took to social media to show some love. Among them was Royce Da 5’9″, who shared a message on his Instagram page, telling the “PettyWap” rapper that the culture is “rooting for” her.
“You’re a Champion @youngma,” Royce wrote, captioning a photograph of Young M.A. “The culture is rooting for you and I’m sending you love and well wishes. I been a fan… Love and Respect….”

Celebrity barber and Wild ‘N Out star Aaron “Fats Da Barber” Turk, who posted the aforementioned video of Young M.A getting a haircut, previously took to his Instagram Stories to respond to those criticizing him for sharing the clip.
“Y’all got so much to say as if I’m trying to embarrass my dawg she reposted my video if she didn’t want me to record she would have told me,” he said. “Y’all don’t know our bond nor our friendship what y’all need to do is just send your prayers for her and that’s that.
“She didn’t have a haircut in a month and she wanted me to bring her haircut back to life which I did!!! thank you sis for coming and rocking with me like always love ya.”
