Roddy Ricch Accused Of Owing $200K In Back Rent

Roddy Ricch is currently staring down the barrel of a lawsuit that alleges he owes $200,000 in back rent and damages.

According to The Blast, a lawsuit filed by California company AIM Property Investment, Inc. claims Roddy incurred the damages for an Encino home he signed a one-year lease for at the beginning of April. The lawsuit states the “Ballin” rapper breached terms of his tenancy agreement after the landlord accused him of failing to pay rent on the first of the month for July and the months following. He purportedly gave up possession of the home in August.

The Compton native is also being accused of failing to return the property in its original condition, in addition to causing, ‘General,’ and ‘Consequential,’ damage to the home. AIM insists Roddy made the pad unlivable and are holding him accountable for, ‘Lost rent and any expenses attributable to re-renting the property.’

For Roddy, the litigation is somewhat of a spoiling moment to cap-off his dominant breakout year. He received yet another plaque recently when DaBaby’s monster single “Rockstar” reached the four-times platinum certification mark back in September. Additionally, he received eight total nominations and took home the award for the Favorite Album Rap/Hip Hop category for his project Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial at the 2020 American Music Awards.

Roddy Ricch isn’t the only rapper to have a real estate lawsuit thrown at him. Earlier this month Tyga had his name tarnished when his landlord accused him of also wrecking $200,000 of havoc (although the “Taste” rapper did produce receipts in attempts to absolve himself of this hefty debt).

    1. What’s with all these rappers renting houses smh why not buy the house and when you want to move, either rent it to keep getting income, or fix it up and flip it? You’re basically throwing money away by renting.

      1. 200K buys you a dog house in la, most any other city i get the point people have reasons
        flipping depends on timing
a good renter lmao youve obviously never owned property. hard to find a good renter.
