“We want to do a project in Africa with African artists. And not just African artists — let ‘em know, Brett,” Ross hinted before passing the mic to his business partner and Sovereign Brands CEO Brett Berish.
“Stonebwoy, Yemi, Diamond Platnumz, Shacko — we got you all,” Berish added, revealing some of the potential collaborators that will be featured on the project.
Rick Ross went even further and proposed: “Let’s do 12 different songs, 12 different countries, 12 different artists.”
He declared that the album will be “the new ‘We Are the World,’” referring to the 1985 supergroup USA for Africa that featured Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and dozens more.

“So producers, artists, get ready. This is gonna be huge,” Ross added. “We’re gonna do a powerful project focused on Africa […] I want to wave the flag.”
Ross’ announcement comes on the heels of Meek Mill asking his followers on X (formerly Twitter) which African artists he should collaborate with for a brand new album.
“If I made an album with an African artist who should it be???” the Philly rapper asked. “Question to Nigeria Ghan[a]? I rap well I could do in 2 weeks with a good producer??? Leave a comment who???”
With Ross’ reveal coming out just a few days after Meek Mill’s post, it’s possible this idea has been brewing since their sessions together for Too Good To Be True.

Rick Ross and Meek Mill have a long history of collaborating together, including on songs such as “Believe It” on Dreams & Nightmares, “Been That” on Dreams Worth More Than Money and “What’s Free” with JAY-Z on Championships.
Regardless of whether or not the Teflon Don and the Dream Chasers boss collaborate on their respective new projects, Champagne Moments will be the biggest international album that Ross has worked on thus far.
