Redman Announces Release Date For Long-Awaited ‘Muddy Waters Too’ Album

Redman has finally announced the release date for his long-awaited album Muddy Waters Too.

In an Instagram post on Thursday (December 19), the rap veteran shared a teaser trailer for the project which is a sequel to his classic 1996 LP Muddy Waters.

At the end of the clip, it’s revealed that the album will be arriving on Tuesday (December 24), just in time for Christmas.

The video also features what appears to be an alternate version of the nostalgic album cover, which Redman first unveiled in October.

It wouldn’t be the first time this year that a rapper has subverted the standard Friday release day as Tyler, The Creator dropped the chart-topping Chromakopia on a Monday.

Redman has already dropped two singles from Muddy Waters Too in the form of “Don’t Wanna C Me Rich” and “Jersey,” though an official tracklist has to be revealed.

The album will serve as the New Jersey native’s first full-length effort in almost a decade following 2015’s Mudface.

Redman also recently revealed that he wants to make Blackout! 3 with Method Man, but his longtime partner-in-rhyme isn’t quite on the same page.

Sitting down for an interview with Red Bull last month, the dynamic duo discussed their storied careers and what they’d like to do next.

“I want to do a Blackout! 3. Maybe like 12 songs,” Reggie said.

Meth replied: “We are not even focused on no Blackouts! or any of that shit right now. Brother, we are focused on this TV and movie stuff and producing as well. We’ve got to get these stories out there.”

    1. Muddy Waters is damn near flawless (I could go without all the skits). I don’t see how this can live up to that title, but I’ll happily listen to find out.

    2. Eh. Redman SOUNDS dope until you start to notice how he basically jacked old Eminems style completely.

      1. This just shows your stupidity. The original Muddy Waters came out before Eminem had even made a name for himself. Eminem credits Redman as one of his biggest influences. 🤦‍♂️ you’re a fucking dumbass.

      2. @jorge this is where it gets funny actually. Infinite, which is where Em made a name for himself in a similar way to 50 cent with Power Of The Dollar, was released Nov 12th 1996. Muddy waters was released Dec 10th 1996. Aka, Redman stole his style and wrote the album directly after hearing Infinite. Em hints at their through his sly, sarcastic tones while clearly showing that he KNOWS Redman copycat him.

      3. Brother there is no way he recorded an album in 1996 in less than a month and rolled it out “stealing” style after hearing an underground Eminem, be serious and realistic, good lord.
