Redman would love to get back in the booth with his longtime partner-in-rhyme Method Man for Blackout! 3, but Meth has other plans.

Sitting down with Red Bull for their Red Bull Spiral series earlier this month, the pair discussed their storied careers and what they’d like to do next.

“I want to do a Blackout! 3, Maybe like 12 songs,” Red said.

Meth replied: “We are not even focused on no Blackouts! or any of that shit right now. Brother, we are focused on this TV and movie stuff and producing as well. We’ve got to get these stories out there.”

The duo dropped their platinum-selling debut album Blackout! in 1999, a commercial success that launched at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 254k copies sold. Blackout! 2 followed 10 years later, which also saw a top 10 debut.

Since then, fans have eagerly been awaiting a third installment – and at one point, it appeared to be a reality.

During an interview in 2014, the pair alleged Blackout! 3 was coming in the next few months.

“Well, we’re not sure when it’s gonna drop,” Method Man said. “Hopefully, it’ll be top of next year or bottom of this year. They can just expect more Meth and Red. You know? Red and Meth shit. Same shit we been doing. Smoking, drinking, stinking, the works.”

However, that clearly didn’t happen, and the pair have since moved on to other ventures. For Meth, that namely includes acting, and he now has over 100 credits to his name.

Most recently, he’s been starring as Davis MacLean in 50 Cent’s Power Book II: Ghost series – and Redman had even joined him as a character named Theo Rollins for a period of time. However, he was eventually replaced by a different actor, which Meth later revealed was due to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine. At least, that’s what he’d heard.

“You really wanna know why? He wouldn’t get the jab,” Meth explained in a 2023 Breakfast Club interview. “At least that’s what I heard. Did I talk to Redman about it, No? … Shit like that don’t even need to be said. He’s not the first or the last person that’ll probably happen to.”

He added: “Redman, he made a decision and I stick by whatever that decision was. If he feels that was best for him, I agree with him.”

Actor Jordan Mahon took over to handle the role of Rollins in Season 3 of Power Book II. Rollins played the sick brother of Meth’s character Davis, a prominent lawyer, who was behind bars for a crime that Davis actually committed.

Unfortunately, Rollins’ time in the show came to an end in Season 3 when he died by suicide after murdering dirty lawyer Cooper Saxe and shooting himself seconds later.
