Redman says he has many things planned for his next few projects, including new takes on his past work. During a recent interview with MTV, Redman discussed plans for a solo album, another Blackout! album and another film with longtime friend and collaborator Method Man.
“We gon’ do Blackout! 3,” Redman says. “RZA, Erick Sermon, get y’all asses up! Rockwilder, get yo mothafuckin’ ass up! We need aBlackout! 3 album. Once we get our beats from RZA, Erick Sermon and Rockwilder, then we can take other producers that wanna be a part of the Redman and Method Man experience.”
In 2012, Method Man spoke about plans for a Blackout! 3.
“Blackout! 3,” he said at the time. “We’re gonna be doing that together at the same time while we’re doing these two albums. A lot of people slept on that Blackout! 2. Blackout! 2 was dope. I don’t give a fuck. I did my thing on that album…Honestly, I would put that album up against any album that came out that year.”
Redman Says He’s Written How High 2’s Plot Summary & Storyboard
Red & Meth also plan on creating How High 2, Redman says, despite not owning the rights to the characters in the film.
“I wrote that shit on February 9, 2014, the storyboard, plot summary,” Redman says. “I can’t even show y’all that right now. Our ideas was the first How High, from movies that we liked and our ideas so come on, that shit is right here just to let y’all know I don’t play no games. The High How 2, hopefully we could do that under Universal, if not, we gonna do our own movie under our own shit and it will be heavily marijuana related.”
Redman Discusses Plans For Muddy Waters 2
Redman also discussed plans for an upcoming solo album, a project many of his fans have been anticipating since he first announced it in 2012.
“I’m coming out with a Muddy Waters 2,” Redman says. “It’s gon be called Even Muddier. I’m not trying to top the Muddy Waters album. What I’m doing by naming it Muddy Waters 2 is to let you relive that ’90s kind of sound and experience. It’s not gonna be sounding too much New Wave. Not too much high hats, you know the fast high hats? None of that… I’m using samples, so that’s why I’m calling it Muddy Waters 2. Even fuckin’ muddier.”

Yeah Blackout 2 was heavily slept on. Had slightly darker and less bouncy production but lyrical fire was even more so.

Blackout 2 was the shit. It got a good bit of promotion on the internet but I don’t remember if any of the songs actually hit the radio. Either way, fuck it, that was a solid album. And no, it didn’t have that same formula as the previous one but still a banger.
