Rap Release Dates: La Coka Nostra, Ras Kass, Diggy Simmons, Obie Trice

What was once the mixtape game when it came to releases has now become the album game. Dates are moved all over the place, but luckily there are several additions to announce this week, with barely any subtractions. Today, Alchemist drops Rapper’s Best Friend 2, a collection of beats that Alc gave to his, well, friends. Hieroglyphics’ Pep Love brings Rigmarole, while Hall Of Justus member Chaundon brings The Jammington. It looks like March 13th is the designated date for O.G. releases. BDP has a greatest hits called South Bronx Teachings: A Collection Of Boogie Down Productions, while Del Tha Funkee Homosapien has a re-release for I Wish My Brother George Was Here. Once enemy to KRS-One, MC Shan has O.G.: The Best Of MC Shan. Some newer artists come correct on the 13th too, like Teyana Taylor’s long awaited EP The Misunderstanding Of Teyana Taylor. She’s been quite the fashion vixen lately, kinda like big sis Nicki Minaj, whose April 3rd release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is equipped with some cover art. Spoiler alert: there’s paint involved. She shares a date with Ras Kass’ Spit No Evil and Obie Trice’s Bottoms Up.

Before all that though, Diggy Simmons has his Unexpected debut on March 20th, alongside Odd Future’s OF Tape Vol. 2. The cover art and tracklist for Diggy were revealed. Not too heavy on the collabs, but that Jadakiss song “88” is definitely on there. We’re also finally getting some summer release dates. As reported last week, French Montana has a July 17th release for Excuse My French. However, the month before, La Coka Nostra just announced that Master Of the Dark Arts will be dropping June 26th.
