Logic’s debut album Under Pressure received generally positive reviews from music fans and critics. Recently, the Maryland native got the chance to hear an opposite viewpoint straight from the person slated to interview him minutes later.
Sitting down with Power 106’s Vick One, Logic was told his album was overrated by Vic right before the two were headed into an interview.
“Your album was out, and everybody’s giving it critical acclaim… I just wanted to be honest though. My opinion – it was kind of ‘whatever,’” Vick told Logic in discussing his album. “This is me just like [as an] OG Hip Hop fan – [the album’s] a little bit overrated bro, a little bit like you’re sounding like a bunch of other people.”
Logic, in disbelief, replied, “Are you serious?” Vic One also told Logic he should stick to rapping about sex and drugs and not real life situations and struggle. Shaking his head, the Def Jam Records signee replied that he wants to stick to positivity and rap about the situations he experiences.

Ok I get where the guy is coming from. He could have been better at delivering his opinion but Logic’s album IS OVERRATED! Now before I say what I say, Logic’s album is better than 50% of what’s out now. But he still isn’t at the Golden Gates of hip hop yet. In order to do that, he has to define his own style. Right now, he is a mix of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, a lil J.Cole, and Childish Gambino. Even on his other mixtapes, you hear him bitting Drake’s singing flows, J.Cole’s lines (welcome to forever- where even one song sounds just like 2Face off Friday night Lights) even on Under Pressure, that last song sounds just like Kendrick’s Sing About Me. AAAND they used the SAME SAMPLE! That’s just too much that cannot give you the highest acclaim for an album. But I will say this…Logic has skills!! I just want to see his skills more original. He is a positive dude so maybe soon the originality in his style and song making will match his skill level. Kendrick, Drake, and Cole are hard acts to follow. You have to be your own…
