Atlanta, GA

Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion have thrown their support behind Kamala Harris by appearing alongside the presidential nominee at a campaign rally in Atlanta.

In her first trip to the city and the state of Georgia since beginning her election campaign, Harris brought out the A-list rap stars in front of an estimated crowd of 10,000 supporters on Tuesday (July 30).

Megan Thee Stallion was the first special guest of the evening, taking the stage in a cropped Democrat blue suit before saying to the crowd: “Lets get this done, hotties. Hotties for Harris!”

She then performed a medley of hits including “Girls in the Hood,” “Mamushi,” “Body”, and “Savage,” complete with backup dancers and plenty of booty-shaking.

Later during the rally, Atlanta’s own Quavo came out to give a speech in support of Harris and her position on gun violence.

He said: “One of the issues I care about is resolving the gun violence issue. You can’t understand the struggles of gun violence if you’re not in the field or in the heart of it. So one thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business.

“From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today. So it’s only right in the birthplace of the culture, it’s also the same place to launch the first African American woman to run for president. Yeah, we changing the culture again!”

Quavo ended his brief speech by quoting his late nephew and Migos groupmate TakeOff, who was shot and killed in 2022: “So if you’ve never voted before, make sure you get out and vote right now because it’s the real one. And in the words of my brother TakeOff, let me get a Kamala!”

During her own speech, Harris quoted Quavo to criticize her political opponent Donald Trump: “Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been talking a big game about securing our border but he does not walk the walk. Or as my friend Quavo would say, ‘He does not walk it like he talks it.'”

Georgia is considered one of the key battleground states in the upcoming election, with Trump favored to take the victory. The Democrats won the state by just a few thousand votes in 2020.

Current polling expects Trump to take Georgia, though the margin has narrowed since Joe Biden stepped down and was replaced by Harris, who is more popular with young and Black voters.
