Pusha T will release his Darkest Before Dawn album December 18, according to Noisey.
“I’ve been recording so much—I didn’t want to break up that body of work,” the Virginia Beach, Virginia rapper says in reference to his long-delayed King Push album. “I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren’t usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That’s the music I love, and that’s the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let’s just separate the game.”
Darkest Before Dawn producers include Kanye West, Puff Daddy, Timbaland, Q-Tip, Baauer, and Nashiem Myrick, the Noisey story says.
Earlier this month, Pusha T was announced as G.O.O.D. Music President, a title he says won’t impact his own work.
“Music isn’t a pressure thing for me,” he said at the time. “It never has been. I’ve never been solely dependent on [my music], so I’ve always had the luxury of taking my time and really putting things together. So when I drop, it’s always an event.”

So is this Darkest Before Dawn a separate project from King Push? I’m low-key confused lol
Yeah, “Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude” on the 18th. “King Push” in the Spring.
The Album is “King Push: Darkest Before Dawn.”
No it isn’t. King Push is an entirely different album dropping next year.
This is poorly reported.
‘Darkest Before Dawn’ is Pusha’s prelude mixtape before he releases ‘King Push’. It’s supposed to set the tone for what’s to come from KP because it’s supposedly so dark, or “evil” as he put it. I can’t wait for both joints. Just heard “Untouchable” on The Breakfast Club mix this morning. It sounded soooo good coming out my car speakers! I really can’t wait till THAT hits radio like I want it to. It’s clearly something different that we’re not hearing right now in the land of sing-songy, lean drinking pill-poppers from the South – or those who vulture that culture.
Not a mixtape.
I’m confused too, I think it’s one album “king push: darkest before dawn” but they just chose to word it in a odd way.
