Pop Smoke Murder Suspect Claims He ‘Assaulted’ Alleged Shooter After Slaying

Pop Smoke was shot and killed in February 2020 during a botched home invasion in the Hollywood Hills. One of the men accused of killing the burgeoning rap star was reportedly so upset with the 15-year-old alleged triggerman, he “assaulted” him afterward.

According to Rolling Stone, murder suspect Corey Walker was in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday (October 15) as his defense lawyer, Christopher Darden, filed a motion to dismiss his murder and robbery charges with the argument Walker “specifically voiced his opposition to any violence before Pop Smoke was fatally shot.”

Darden wrote in the court filing, “It is clear from the evidence that [Walker] did not enter the house, was not armed, and did not personally kill the victim. Moreover, the evidence is clear that the defendant did not share the actual killer’s intent to kill.”

Instead, Walker wanted the alleged shooter to smash a vase over Pop Smoke’s head. Darden added there’s no evidence showing Walker actually entered Pop Smoke’s rented home with a weapon and repeatedly pointed out he wasn’t the shooter.

Pop Smoke's Alleged Teenage Killer Just Wanted His Diamond-Studded Rolex

On the day of Pop Smoke’s death, the suspects allegedly had just one desire — to get their hands on Pop Smoke’s luxury watch.

In May, the New York Daily News reported a detective involved in the case testified in court and revealed the group of teens believed to be responsible for the killing were desperate to steal Pop Smoke’s diamond-studded Rolex. The investigator said they had their eyes on Pop Smoke’s Cuban link chain but only managed to get the watch, which they then resold for a mere $2,000.

Pop Smoke was 20 years old at the time of his death. Although Walker escaped the death penalty, he could still face a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted.

    1. So is this man snitching? Someone explain these “street rules.” If what his lawyer is saying is indeed correct, I would say no. Now, that doesn’t absolve his client of the crime, but he raises a good point, if true.

      1. Why don’t you go out and research the topic yourself? Join a gang, commit a crime and then confirm what the DA already knows due to evidence. You can then report back and give us the answer to your pointless ass question.

          1. It’s cool that’s why I celebrate when the white cops get slaughtered because of racist clown’s like yourself!!?

            1. I cant front, I also celebrate when white cops get slaughtered. I feel nothing and almost think its funny.

    2. To kill a man over a watch, my mind refuses to comprehend it. Was it worth it? Now you die, motherfucker

        1. It’s worth what it can sell for and nothing more. If they sold it for $2000 then that’s what it’s worth

          1. Well, idiot, it sold to Pop Smoke for over 100K. That’s what it’s worth. If someone steals a mew escalde and sells it for $1000, it doesn’t mean Escalades are worth $1000. Simple stupid. Your economics are retarded. Had it been worth $2000, they wouldn’t have killed him for it. What a secondary market pays for stolen goods doesn’t establish its worth. Damn people are slow nowadays.
