Pleasure P is determined to get credit — and money — for what he says is his work co-writing Lil Wayne‘s massive 2008 hit “Lollipop.”
Recently, the former Pretty Ricky member went on Instagram Live to claim that he co-wrote the track with the late Static Major, and that he’s owed a share of the $28 million he says the song has earned over the years.

“I wrote that. [‘Lollipop’ co-writer] Rex Zamor, [Lil Wayne’s longtime manager] Tez, Wayne, Mack Maine: I need my fucking plaque for this song, bro,” he said, while “Lollipop” played in the background. “[‘Lollipop’ producer] Jim Jonsin, y’all can do something about this shit. But nobody care about me no more.

This is not the first time Pleasure P has claimed to have been a writer on “Lollipop.” Back in 2023 he appeared on The Baller Alert Showwith a similar story.
“There’s certain elements of the song I wrote that’s still in there,” he said at the time. “But Wayne obviously did what he needed to do.”

Back in 2008, the song’s producer Jim Jonsin spoke to HipHopDX about the track, and did mention Pleasure P, though he didn’t say the singer had a hand in writing the track.
“I originally did the track for Danity Kane,” Jonsin said. “[I] then played it for Pleasure P, formerly of Pretty Ricky while he was working with Static Major, R.I.P. In Miami, Static jumped on it straight away, and heard it for [a track by] Pleasure P featuring Lil Wayne, and Pleasure thought it should be for Lil Wayne, so Static met with Wayne about some other business, and played ‘Lollipop’ for him he loved it.”

Meanwhile, Wayne recently revealed that he’d spoken to Kendrick Lamar following the drama surrounding next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Earlier this year, Kendrick was announced as the headliner of the big game, which takes place on February 9 in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans.
Weezy made his disappointment at the snub public, which K. Dot addressed on his latest album GNX — prompting the Young Money legend to seemingly hit out at his “Mona Lisa” collaborator on social media.
Now, during an interview with Skip Bayless, Wayne has confirmed that he and Kendrick have spoken and there’s no bad blood between them.
