Playboi Carti has no shortage of die-hard fans, but he recently left a couple of them feeling uneasy after running into them following Londonā€™s Wireless Festival.

The ā€œscaryā€ interaction happened after Cartiā€™s typically riotous headlining performance at the annual UK festival on Friday night (July 8), with a video of the moment showing one of the fans looking visibly uncomfortable and recoiling before Carti pulls him in for a hug.

When another fan asks how heā€™s doing while recording a selfie video, Carti merely stares at the camera with red-tinged contact lenses in his eyes.

ā€œScary,ā€ the fan says into the camera as Carti, who was climbing into a car, drives away.

This isnā€™t the first time Playboi Carti has left his fans feeling distressed. After videos emerged on Twitter back in March of theĀ Whole Lotta Red rapper laying down some baby-voiced ad-libs on a track, fans came out in droves to express their discomfort at the process.

ā€œBro having a seizure,ā€ wrote one spooked fan, while another added: ā€œDoes he require a specialist?ā€ Another chimed in by suggesting Carti might secretly have Touretteā€™s, while another wrote: ā€œthat n-gga carti fighting demons lol.ā€

However, other fans were supportive of Cartiā€™s creative process and reminded unsettled viewers that crafting a hit record isnā€™t always an orthodox process.

ā€œAdlibs gotta be done a certain way or it wonā€™t hit right,ā€ wrote one supporter, while another added, ā€œYo this funny af to see but itā€™s how bangers are made.ā€

Regardless, Playboi Cartiā€™s set was one of the highlights of this yearā€™s Wireless Festival, which also included performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, 50 Cent, GloRilla and others.

During his show, Carti ran through dozens of his hits, including ā€œShoota,ā€ ā€œWokeuplikethis*ā€ and ā€œJumpOutTheHouse.ā€ He also surprised fans early on by debuting an untitled new song, presumably from his long-awaited new album.

Needless to say, the 26-year-old had a far better experience at Wireless Festival this year than last year, when he tumbled off the stage into the crowd.
