With Playboi Carti touring Whole Lotta Red in 2021 as part of his Narcissist Tour, many are speculating that the 26-year-old’s new album, tentatively titled Music, will arrive prior to the start of his upcoming tour.
Despite the anticipation for his next solo offering, last month rumors circulated about a possible joint project from Carti and NBA YoungBoy.

Carti made a surprise return to social media on June 12 and posted a rare photo on his Instagram Stories of YoungBoy wearing an upside-down cross chain.
Celebrity jeweler Wafi amin Lalani later shed more light on the neck piece, claiming it was a gift from Carti to YoungBoy ahead of their “new collab album.”

In a video posted to his company Jewelry Unlimited’s Instagram page, Wafi also offered a close-up of the chain, which boasts dozens of glistening diamonds.
“004KT,” he wrote in the caption, possibly referencing the title of the collaborative project. “@playboicarti GIFTS YOUNGBOY A CHAIN AHEAD OF THEIR NEW COLLAB ALBUM.”
Released at the tail end of 2020, Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red, shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 100,000 first-week sales, bolstered by big-name features from Kanye West, Future and Kid Cudi.
Since then, he’s worked with the likes of A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd and Trippie Redd, earned his first Grammy nomination and headlined tours and festivals, while also building his budding Opium label with releases from Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson.
