The Alton Sterling police shooting in Lousiana has left the Hip Hop community in a state of shock and frustration is starting to seep through with each passing conversation.
Yesterday in Baton Rouge, the 37-year-old father of three was videotaped being shot to death by police officers as they had him detained on the ground. Sterling was reported to be in possession of a gun as he stood in front of a convenience store selling CDs like he has for years when the officers tased and tackled him before the killing.
Earlier this morning, Hot 97’s morning crew were discussing the situation when a currently employed police officer named “Doug” dialed in but failed to give an objective opinion on whether or not the situation looked “bad,” Peter Rosenberg laid into the “good-ol-boy” system most police officers have been accused of utilizing, despite any amount of guilt that presented itself on or beneath the surface.
“See this is the problem I have with police officers,” Rosenberg began as he made it clear the incoming rant wasn’t necessarily directed at his uniformed caller.
“Y’all don’t ever want ever want to point at someone else and say, ‘You can’t do your job well!!!'”, he continued. I can tell you right now if I heard a radio personality get on the air and do something irresponsible, I go, ‘that’s a bad radio personality. He does a bad job.’ Police officers never wanna say when y’all do a bad job. So that’s the reason the public thinks all of you are bad. Because you won’t ever call someone out and say they MURDERED someone. In cold blood, it happened again. And until you guys start taking responsibility for your own, people in the street are going to be upset instead. So how about y’all lead the movement instead? How about instead of people rioting, police officers get out in front of it of themselves and you guys are the first ones on the front lines!”
Several other members of the Hip Hop community such as The Game and Chuck D have vowed to take action outside of social media. During a family press conference also this morning, the mother of Alton Sterling’s spoke out about injustice as her son wept tremendously as the cameras rolled on. The officers still haven’t been identified (at least formally; check your local social media listings for the scoop, however) and have been placed on paid, administrative leave.

Right. So the cops receive a 911 call saying there is a HUGE black man wearing a red shirt with a gun in front of a liquor store selling CDs that threarened someone with said gun. They show up and find only 1 HUGE black man wearing a red shirt holding CDs in front of said liquor store (probable cause for search), and order him to get on the ground so they can search him. By the way, he DID have a gun and is a convicted felon selling CDs in front of another business. Did he have permits to be working there? Did he have a tax ID number and pay said taxes? No. So he isn’t exactly innocent, is he? Anyways, they ask said man to lay down and he starts with that “what did I do”, “I didn’t do anything” bullshit. They tazer him, he doesn’t go down. One officer tackles him while the other puts a gun to his head and says he will shoot him if he keeps resisting. He struggles to get back up, doesn’t allow the cops to cuff him and keeps saying shit, resisting arrest and not complying. This is a man convicted of more than one felony who has done time in prison that is over 6 foot tall and weighs more than 350lbs. He got exactly what anyone in his shoes would have gotten regardless of race. He died because he was stupid. That’s what carrying a gun illegally will get you. This is a bunch of race baiting bullshit. This DJ dork would lay down instantly for the cops because he knows they would SHOOT him. Pussy.

Are you high? I’m white. 37 years old. Been to prison 5 times, 4 in Illinois and 1 in Iowa. I have been arrested quite a bit, pulled over quite a bit. I’ve been in high speed chases, ran, etc etc… Two times in my life cops have pulled their guns out on me. Once I was being arrested after having tried to run a cop over, the other was in a raid on my home. Never once running from cops did they threaten to shoot me, never once, when telling a cop he’d need back up if he thought I was getting handcuffed, never once did I actually fear that a cop was going to kill me. I’m 5’9″ 250 lbs. So it’s not race baiting. This shit is happening in real life every day and something needs to be done to make it stop. Period. Don’t be a fucking doucher dude.
Where did you learn law? Someone reporting that somebody did something does not give Police probable cause to search anyone or anything. It gives you REASON to conduct a field interview, where sufficient PC can be gained through that process. And I don’t give a fuck if he was selling CD’s, DVD’s, Weed, Crack, newborn babies or his own ass, that does not reasonably(key word here) call for the use of deadly force. By your logic, every large person with a record should be shot first and have the facts and legalities sorted out later. Even in military combat, you can’t just shoot someone SUSPECTED of terrorism or other acts of violence. There has to be a legal escalation in which deadly force is reasonably warranted. ROE’s govern that shit to T. Deadly Force is the LAST resort when all other means have failed. The rest of the facts must still come to light but you sound like a fucking apologist. It could be your retarded ass next time.

Did you even watch the video? so it’s okay for the police to just shoot people up? Nope, it is not okay. they got a gun ONLY to protect them self and not to just shoot somebody just because they’re resisting arrest. and if you watch the video of the murder you will notice that the cop shot 2 times, went for a little break and then shot him 4-5 times again, that is not protecting yourself, that is straight up murder and for that both officers should get the same treatment as anybody else that murdered someone.
