Oschino has recalled a time where he made thousands of dollars per week after State Property split for good in the mid 2000s.

The Philadelphia rapper (real name Oschino Vasquez) opened up about his drug dealing days in an interview with African Cultural Art Forum. He started by breaking down the numerical values depending on where he did his transactions.

“2005 to 2006, I was making like $30,000 to $40,000 a week,” Oschino said. “You gotta figure, if you getting bricks for $20,000 right, and you sell them for $27,000 over on Dover and Delaware, and the way that I did, I’d tell them, ‘If ya’ll want three, I’d bring them but if ya’ll want one, ya’ll gotta come get it.’ So they always called me when they want three. But you gotta have a line and all that shit.”

He continued: “But it’s not worth it because the risk. The risk just ain’t worth it. I quit cold turkey. They robbed my house one time on Lincoln Drive and I said, ‘I quit.’ I don’t smoke weed, I don’t do all that shit, I won already, I quit. And as soon as I quit, everybody else I was fucking with got booked. It’s like, I be getting a sense of shit..”

State Property was a group of rappers from Philly, organized by Freeway and Beanie Sigel, who became a part of Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s. The group members consisted of Peedi Crakk, Oschino Vasquez, Omillio Sparks and the duo Young Gunz (Young Chris and Neef Buck).

They dropped their debut album in 2002 as an official soundtrack for the 2001 film State Property, which they all starred in. The album peaked at No. 1 and No. 14 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and 200 chart, respectively.

Their sophomore effort, The Chain Gang Vol. 2, did much better, reaching No. 1 and No. 6 on the same charts a year after their debut. However, things wouldn’t last as relationships within the group went awry after Sigel was sent to prison in 2004.

Over the past year, Oschino has been in a recollective mindset. Last December, the former State Property rapper has recalled the time Jadakiss tried to warn him off signing with Roc-A-Fella Records.

Oschino signed with The Roc in 1999 after a bathroom conversation with JAY-Z. But before putting pen to paper, he took the idea to Kiss who told him not to sign with the label.

“After I left out, I went to tell Kiss and them,” the West Philly native explained on the Philly First 48 podcast. “I told Kiss, ‘JAY-Z gon’ sign me tomorrow.’ He goes, ‘Oh, don’t do it. I’m telling you don’t do it.’
